Preface

This tech note introduces how to connect Siemens S7-200 PPI Port with PanelMaster

HMI.

<S7-200 CPU>

1) PLC Parameter setting:

Execute the “STEP 7 MicroWIN” software to link with the S7-200 PLC via PPI Adapter program cable.

PPI Port (Port0 & Port1)

Create a new project and select the CPU to set its communication format from “System Block”.

NOTE: The standard format is 9600, 8, Even, 1 and the PLC Address is “2”

Execute “Set PG/PC Interafce” --- “PC/PPI cable(PPI)” option to select the correct communication port

on PC side.

Execute “Communication” option, it can find out the PLC automatically.

If the communication port is correct, you can execute the download/upload function to change the “PLC

Address”/”Baud Rate”…etc.

2) HMI setting:

(a) S7-200 (PPI; 1-to-1) Setting: (Without Token Command)

Select Device/Server：Siemens AG → Simatic S7-200 (PPI; 1-to-1)

NOTE: Driver Name --- C39001.dll / C39001.mod

Set the HMI link port parameter identical with PLC communication parameter

(b) S7-200 (PPI; Network) Setting: (With Token Command)

Select Device/Server： Siemens AG → Simatic S7-200 (PPI; Network)

NOTE: Driver Name --- C39011.dll / C39011.mod

Set the HMI link port parameter identical with PLC communication parameter

Note: The network driver is using token command to link with PLC and HMI, it can be used

to link with different devices that support PPI Network protocol.

NOTE: Device named DBWn specified same as VWn.
