Plant a Row for the Hungry - 2021 Food Bank of El Dorado County 4550 Business Drive, Cameron Park 530-621-9950 (off Durock Road) The Food Bank is the local food clearinghouse; they distribute food to many agencies and hunger projects throughout the county. They are open for donations M-Th from 9-3, and closed for lunch 12-12:30. SHARE 1031 Thompson Way, Placerville 530-626-8299 (off Cedar Ravine by Sierra School) SHARE is a joint effort of 10 churches and is located below Federated Church. Donations can be delivered M-W-F from 10:00-12:00 starting July 6, 2021 Upper Room 1868 Broadway, Placerville 530-497-5146 (east of Schnell School Rd.) This all-volunteer program serves dinner every evening. Donations can be delivered M-F 9:00-3:30 and weekends noon-3:30. Progress House Inc. 2844 Coloma Street, Placerville 530-626-9240 Progress House is a drug/alcohol rehab program with multiple sites that welcome your donations. Please call to arrange a delivery time. They have a food giveaway on the 2nd and 4thTuesday of each month from 9-11. Please call to arrange a donation time. Plant a Row for the Hungry is an international project, (https://gardencomm.org/PAR) that encourages gardeners to share their extra produce with needy folks in their community. What if you, or someone you know, would like to help, but don’t have a place to garden? The Wakamatsu Farm, which is managed by the American River Conservancy, has a Giving Garden. All the produce grown is given to various food programs throughout our community. Volunteers are welcome to help in the garden.
