PLANOMETRIC VIEW OF A KITCHENDraw the plan shown below.

Use the dimensions of this to draw the 30/60 degree planometric view.

Estimate sizes where not supplied (e.g. door height).

PLANOMETRIC VIEW OF A KITCHENSTEP 1 involves drawing an accurate plan of the room, including all of

the main features.

Draw construction lines to show where the outline of the plan will be situated on the paper.

Use the measurements given to determine which line should be drawn first and also where it should be drawn.

Draw construction lines to show the widths of the work surfaces- use the measurements given.

PLANOMETRIC VIEW OF A KITCHENSTEP 1 involves drawing an accurate plan of the room, including all of

the main features.

Now measure off and mark each of the separate work surfaces.

The DoorTo draw the door you must first use your compass to draw in a construction line- this line represents the path that the door would take when opened.

Now mark the door in the desired position.

The RugDraw in construction lines to show where the centre of the rug will be placed

- use you compass to mark in the circle.

Now darken in the drawing and mark off the centre line of the rug.

PLANOMETRIC VIEW OF A KITCHENSTEP 2 involves re-drawing the plan of the room- this time rotated at 60*.

Use the measurements given and draw construction lines to find the starting point for the rotated plan.

In this example of planometric drawing the plan is to be rotated at 60*.

Use the 30/60 set square to draw in the rotated plan.

In a planometric drawing all vertical edges remain vertical and project upwards from the base.

Project construction lines vertically from each corner on the rotated plan.

Now measure and mark off both the height of the walls and also the position of the work surfaces on the rotated plan.

STEP 3 is where the remaining details are added to the room.

Using the measurements given draw construction lines to represent the height of the kitchen surfaces.

Now project these heights along throughout the whole drawing (using the correct set squares) to show the kitchen surfaces

-section off eachsurface.

PLANOMETRIC VIEW OF A KITCHENSTEP 3 is where the remaining details are added to the room.

The Door Mark the shape of the door onto the wall- estimate the height.

Once again use the compass to show the path of the door when opened.

Now choose how far open the door is to be and mark in the top edge - mark the height of the door down from this new edge and draw in the bottom of the door.

Mounted Cabinet Estimate the height of the cabinet and draw in the top surface using the measurements shown on the plan.

Project the height down from the corners of this surface (estimate the height) and mark in the base of the cabinet.

The Rug Measure off and mark in construction lines to find the centre of the rug.

Use your compass to mark in the circle.

Finally, draw in the centre line of the rug.
