Planitherm 1 is 20% more thermally efficient than ‘A’ rated

glass. A rated glass has a U value of 1.2 and Planitherm 1 has

a U value of 1. The U value is how the thermal performance of

building materials and indeed windows is calculated.

Most of the gain with A rated windows comes through solar

gain, as the glass is very clear, which effectively lets in more

heat. However, most of this gain is achieved in the summer,

when you don’t really want or need it.

Planitherm 1 doesn’t have such a high ‘energy rating’ i.e. solar

gain, but performs 20% better at insulating the home and

keeping the heating bills down.

Applications

SGG PLANITHERM ONE T is a low-E glass offering the lowest centre pane U-value in the SGG PLANITHERM family providing excellent thermal insulation for the most demanding of glass specifications:

Residential New Build Solutions:- Windows and skylights- Patio doors, French doors and other

external doors

Commercial New Build and Renovation Solutions:- Façades and windows- Structural glazing- Overhead glazing

Enhanced Thermal Insulation

- with an optimum centre-pane U-value of 1.0W/m2K (16mm, 90% argon-filled cavity), SGG PLANITHERM ONE T can comfortably meet current Building Regulations by improving whole window U-values for all frame types

- particularly suited to residential new build and light commercial new build and renovation applications using steel and aluminium frames

- considerable reductions in heating over standard glass

- environmentally friendly solution, given the lower CO2 emissions associated with reduced energy consumption

Benefits

SGG PLANITHERM ONE T must always be processed into an insulating glass unit (IGU) with the coating positioned towards the inside of the cavity. It is not suitable for single-glazing applications.

Important: If positioned on face 2 of an IGU for facade applications, the coating must always be toughened.

Monolithic Glass:Standard thickness: 4mm and 6mm. Other thicknesses are available upon request.Substrate: SGG PLANICLEAR clear floatToughened Glass:SGG PLANITHERM ONE T is a ‘‘single-stock’’ coating and therefore can be used in either annealed or toughened form. It can be toughened to meet the safety requirements of BS EN 12150.Laminated Glass:SGG STADIP, SGG STADIP PROTECT and SGG STADIP SILENCE laminated glass - please contact us for lead times and availability.

SGG PLANITHERM ONE T is manufactured on a magnetron coater. A uniquecombination of metal oxide layers are applied to high quality SGG PLANICLEAR clear float glass using a magnetically enhanced cathodic sputtering process under vacuum conditions.

SGG PLANITHERM ONE T meets the durability requirements of class C of European Standard EN1096. Light and solar performance are in accordance with EN410. *Positioning the coating on Face 2 reduces the g-value in DGU to 0.49 (4mm) and 0.48 (6mm).
