TAYRONA PARK

In the department of Magdalena, 34 km from the beautifu

city of Santa Marta, Tayrona National Park is a sanctuary onature and archaeological remains are invited to meet withyourself. Ecosystems such as mangroves, corals, sea grass,scrub and dry forest magic, damp and cloudy proliferatand home to a surprising variety of plants and animals thaare living testimony.Created in 1969, with 12000 hectares of land and 3,000marine which is considered a natural park by the biologicaland archaeological value they possess. Its temperaturranges from 25 C and 32 C, and extending from the 0-9on sea level and has two rainy seasons: May to June and the

other from September to NovembeNatural Park was before the conquest, an area in which theTayrona Indians lived, leaving significant evidence of theipassage through the land: the village Chairama.The Tayrona National Park has over 100 species omammals, which include howler monkeys, ocelot, deer andseveral species of bats. With them, live 300 species of birds,of which the condor, the eagle lone eagle and white are theprotagonists.

Similarly, there are 31 species of reptiles, 15 amphibians, 202of sponges, 471 crustaceans, and more than 1000 marinespecies. The dolphins and turtles also frequent the area, thelast, to spawn

In ocean ecosystems Tayrona Park has 350 species of algathat represent only a portion of the total vegetation of thiarea is considered the richest of all the ColombianCaribbean, with its 31 types of plants. With regard towildlife, there are over 770 different plant species, rangingfrom cacti to large trees that can reach 30 meters high
