Print as many Pattern Templates, (also referred to as a
sloper), as you need. The Pattern Template page is right
after the exercise page.
Cut out the Pattern Templates, or slopers, saving the
darts for last or until you're ready to practice.
Check your patterns by watching the video tutorial with
the answers to the exercises. The link to the tutorial is
on the exercise page below.

Lesson 1
Sloper Image
In this lesson, we learned the importance of darts in patternmaking
and how to make them work for us by manipulating or moving them.
The sloper image on the left shows how our Practice Template
would look if it were sewn. Remember, our Sloper/Practice
Template has shoulder darts and waist darts.
Instructions: Compare the exercise images to the sloper image above to identifywhich dart has been moved. Using your Practice Template, move the dart to thecorrect position for each exercise. Don't forget to try both the Slash/Spread Methodand the Pivot Method.
