Welcome back from Summer Holidays!
by Donna Weidenfeller
I want to invite any branch member who is planning to
attend the RSCDS AGM November 7th in Perth, Scot-
land to be one of our branch delegates. I'll need to know
by 14 September as I have to submit our list by the end
of that week. Otherwise Robert Mackay will assist us to
find attendees who would like to represent us and our
decisions on matters that will be voted at the AGM
meeting. There is also a formal ball and classes during
the weekend.
For those of you who have tried and been frustrated by
headquarters online members' database, they are moving to a new IT provider. The goal date for completion is 31
August.
As Branch members you are welcome to attend Branch
Committee meetings which most of you know occur the
day of the monthly party. The branch Committee is
starting the year early; we will have a meeting 12 Sep-
tember at my apartment. If you would like to attend
please let me know in advance as my place is small.
A friend from Germany sent a notification regarding a
supplement to the wee green book of dance diagrams.
Please look elsewhere in this issue for ordering details.

POST TIME!
by Susie Langdon Kass
Dancers…It's that season of the year! It's time to post flyers
and recruit new dancers for our fall classes. TAKE flyers and
POST them; SEND PDF copies by email or GIVE them to
friends and colleagues. If everyone helps post and distribute,
we‘ll get lots of nice new dancers. The Beginners' classes flyer
is available on the website or from your class manager. Your
class has its own flyer to post too. Ask your class manager. The
Branch yellow brochure will be available at games or from
Susie.
Places to post flyers, or leave a small stack:
• Dance studios • Laundromats • Hardware stores • Grocery stores • Cleaners • Variety stores • At church • College campuses • At work • Bookstores • Libraries • Coffee houses • Bakeries • Ice cream stores • Music stores • Record stores • Bike shops • Gyms • Bulletin boards everywhere. Keep you eyes open
for them!
Take along a stapler, tacks or push pins, and tape. Ask permis-
sion to post when necessary. Keep a supply of flyers in your
purse and car. Get more at class or call Susie at 415-333-9372,
or e-mail: [email protected], for the Branch Begin-
ners' classes flyer.
Help promote the wonderful activity of Scottish Country Danc-
ing! Thanks for spreading the word!
