Our vision is to provide academic excellence in Science,

Engineering and Technology through active learning teaching

methodologies, innovative research achievements and extension

to society.

We have taken every possible steps to develop necessary

infrastructure, curriculum and extracurricular activities.

Having realized the fact that our students must be comprehen-

sive with the latest technology, be skillful and sensitive with right

attitude, we have been conducting the necessary training and

making the students ready for the placements.

I am sure, with requisite technical knowledge, right kind of

culture and values, every one of our students will prove as an

asset to the industry and country. I invite you to be a part of the

VRSCET aims to spawn high quality Engineers with a fine

blend of technological expertise and good human values to

serve the society at large as true technical professionals. It is

possible by the untiring efforts and whole-hearted support our

Chief Executive Officer Mr.M.Saravanan and good team work of

our faculty and healthy co-operation of the students. In turn, the

college has been producing good results in all disciplines in the

examinations.

Of course, the College has a separate Placement and

Training Cell. This Cell organizes several training programmes

related to development of soft skills and technical skills to our

students. It is our constant endeavor to see that the students are

groomed in such a manner that they are able to meet the chal-

lenging opportunities in their profession.

We hope cordial rapport with industries, systematic plan

to impart knowledge in latest technology and consistent efforts to

produce technologists will yield good results and meet out the

expectations of the society.

V.R.S College of Engineer-

ing and Technology was estab-

lished in the year 1994 under the

aegis of S.P.S. Educational trust.

The college is functioning with

the approval of Government of

Tamil Nadu and All India Council

for Technical Education and af-

filiation of Anna University,

Chennai. It has been accredited

by NBA & NAAC and Recertified for ISO 9001:2008 by TUV SUD South Asia. It has been managed

by Board of Governors with Mrs.Vijaya Muthuvannan as its Chairperson and Mr.S.R.Ramanathan

as Secretary and Correspondent. Mr.N.Muthuvannan is Director-Board of Governors and

Er.M.Saravanan looks after entire administration of the college. The college offers six UG courses

and two PG Programmes. The college has completed 20 years of dedicated service to the people of

Tamil Nadu and other states in the field of Technical Education. The College has been awarded by

Anna University, Chennai, (www.annauniv.edu) with the following marks based on our College infra-

structure facilities and staff strength: Civil – 84.5%, CSE-81.3%, EEE-83.1%, ECE-82.7%, Mech-

92.0%, IT-79%.

The college students had proved their potential and succeeded with University ranks such as

14th rank in 1998, 4th rank in 1999, 1st rank in 2001, 12th rank in 2003 and 7th rank in 2004 Univer-

sity of Madras examinations and 3rd & 6th ranks in 2008, 19th rank in 2013, 9th, 10th, 36th & 41st

ranks in 2014 and 1st, 15th & 25th ranks in 2015 in Anna University, Chennai examinations.

Our college has been awarded with BEST ISTE CHAPTER AWARD in Tamil Nadu and

Pondicherry section during 2010 & 2014, BEST ISTE FACULTY ADVISOR AWARD in Tamil Nadu

and Pondicherry section during 2011 & 2015, BEST ISTE STUDENT AWARD in Tamil Nadu and

Pondicherry section during 2012, 2013, 2014 & 2015 and BEST ISTE SECRETARY AWARD in

Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry section during 2013. SAE, IETE, ISHRAE, ICIACT, CII, CSI & MSI

Chapters are also functioning for the benefit of students respectively. Entrepreneurship Develop-

ment Cell of our college is organizing entrepreneur awareness and development programmes with

Department of Science & Technology’s sponsorship.

TRAINING AND PLACEMENT CELL PLACEMENT ACTIVITIES

The Training and Placement cell strives hard with confidence to develop employability skills

of the students by all means. Additional technical training programmes are being conducted to up-

date the knowledge of students with recent technologies to enhance their employability with the

help of various Organizations. Aptitude and Soft skill training programmes are also being con-

ducted for all the students to improve their employability skills. The students are also provided with

24 X 7 online soft skill test facilities to all students, to groom their soft skill capabilities.

To establish healthy Industry-Institute partnership for providing Industry visits, In plant

Training, Internship and Placement Opportunities to students, 38 Memorandum of Understanding

are signed with various Industries.

Training and Placement Cell has sufficient infrastructure facilities like Conference Room

and Seminar Hall, which are equipped with projectors, desktop systems to ensure that students

get maximum benefit and make them involved in day to day functioning of the Training and Place-

ment Cell.

eAPPZ Softwares, Chennai. (For CSE & IT) [PHP & Dot Net]

eAPPZ is an application development and training

company. eAPPZ provide training in web based applica-

tion development using PHP and Dot Net, which will help

them to get employed or to create employment.

Axis Global Automation, Chennai. (For ECE & EEE) [PLC / SCADA]

Axis Global automation providing practical training on

PLC and SCADA. The training is given in Logic Controller

(PLC), Supervisory Control &Data Acquisition (SCADA), Man

Machine Interfacing (MMI), Variable Frequency Drivers (VFD)

etc…

ICT Academy of Tamil Nadu (For CSE & IT) [J2EE Programming]

ICT Academy of Tamil Nadu, an associate partner of

V.R.S.C.E.T. since 2009, conducts J2EE Programme Train-

ing to our students. The course “Certificate in J2EE Pro-

gramming” is an intensive training program designed to

learn J2EE rapidly. The Course will cover the use of J2EE

working with real-world examples and exercises. The course focuses on Java Servlet program-

ming and Java Server Pages along with the use of Database interfaces using My SQL, Error and

Exception handling, etc...

National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC)

National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) is an ISO 9001-

2008 certified Government of India Enterprise under Ministry of Micro,

Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME). It provided Technical training

to the students of ECE in Embedded System and VLSI for Industrial

Application.
