ABOUT!PKKP!The$ Department$ of$ Health$ National$ Center$ for$ Health$ Promotion$ “Parangal$ sa$ mga( Kuwentong( Kalusugan(Pangkalahatan”$Health$Media$Recognition$aims$to$highlight$and$commend$the$efforts$of$Filipino$media$practitioners$who$have$been$able$to$provide$stories$on$health$issues$that$educate$and$empower$the$audience$to$lead$a$healthier$life,$and$contribute$to$an$improved$quality$of$life.$Television,$radio,$print,$online$media$practitioners$and$bloggers$are$invited$to$submit$media$work$that$covers$the$theme$of$“Kalusugan$Pangkalahatan”$or$universal$health$care,$including$issues$ related$ to$ social$ health$ insurance,$ health$ facilities$ and$ attainment$ of$ the$ Millennium$ Development$ Goals$(MDGs),$such$as$safe$motherhood,$child$nutrition$and$family$planning.$$

HOW!TO!JOIN!$Eligibility$and$Criteria$$Filipinos$working$(full/part$time$or$freelance)$in$print,$television,$radio$and$online$media$organizations,$and$bloggers,$are$encouraged$to$submit$stories$on$health$that$fit$the$following$criteria:$

• Focused$on$various$issues$related$to$“Kalusugan$Pangkalahatan”$or$universal$healthcare,$including$social$health$insurance,$health$facilities,$safe$motherhood,$child$nutrition$and$family$planning$$

• Published$or$broadcast$in$a$bona$fide$media$outlet,$or$posted$online,$between$the$dates$of$January$1,$2012$to$December$31,$2012,$and$January$1,$2013$to$June$30,$2013.$$

• Written$in$English$or$Filipino.$Entries$in$local$language$are$accepted$but$must$also$include$an$English$translation$

$Categories$The$recognition$is$for$outstanding$health$stories$of$any$format$that$have$been$broadcast,$published$or$posted$online$under$the$following$categories:$$

• Print$$• Radio$$• Television$$• Online$Media$• Special$Citation$for$Blog$Entries$$

$All$entries$will$be$evaluated$based$on$technical$aspects$and$coverage$of$the$health$story.$$$A$screening$committee$shall$shortlist$the$works$and$present$to$a$board$of$judges$for$final$selection.$$$Submission$of$Entries$An$entrant$must$submit$one$(1)$story$on$health$along$with$the$entry$form$(see$attachment)$$

• For$print$–$submit$the$material$in$word$format$and$pdf$version$of$the$published$work$

• For$radio/tv$–$submit$an$audio/video$file$of$the$material$or$CD$$• For$online/blog$–$submit$the$link$and$the$file$of$the$material$(word,$pdf,$jpg,$

video,$etc.)$

Submit(one(application(form(per(entry/story.((A(person(may(submit(up(to(five((5)(applications.(Entries(may(be(submitted(via(courier,(emailed(submissions(are(encouraged.((The$Prize$Ten$(10)$stories$of$the$journalists$under$the$different$categories$will$be$recognized$in$an$award$ceremony$in$September$2013.$$They$will$each$be$awarded$the$“Parangal$sa$mga$Kuwentong$Kalusugan$Pangkalahatan”$ trophy$and$cash$prize$of$P10,000.$ $A( journalist(may(be(awarded(for(a(maximum(of(two(stories.(
