In some cases, temporary facilities, including temporary relay and control panels, will be required to maintain service to existing equipment duringconstruction and to facilitate cutovers. One of the design constraints fortemporary facilities is minimizing outage time for installation and removalof equipment installed on a temporary basis.

In certain cases temporary facilities can be built to less strict standardsthan the permanent facilities. However, some temporary facilities mayneed to be designed to the same standards as permanent facilities. Alltemporary electrical facilities, however, must meet OSHA, NESC and theTOs electrical clearances.
