Pitzer College is pleased to present this report as a way of gratefully acknowledging the alumni, parents, trustees, friends, corporations and foundations who have so generously contributed to Pitzer College between July I , 1975 and June 30, 1976.

As you peruse this report, you will see that Pitzer has a broad base of support from various constituent groups . Only a diversity of educational programs, within the framework of the highest educational goals , could attract this diverse constituency.

These donors have discovered that their strength lies in their unity. By combining their gifts, large and smale they enable Pitzer College to continue the high quality educational program which was established at its founding in 1963. Together they have made a significant difference.

In addition to individual donors, several associations of people help support Pitzer. These contributing friends, parents, and graduates are a vital part of the college's life, for they provide valuable service to the college and its students, and they assist the college financially . Interest in any of these activities is always welcome.

Pitzer College Alumni Association

Service-oriented by nature, the Alumni Association was formed to serve the entire Pitzer community. Volunteer efforts include recruiting for admissions; planning alumni events; obtaining feedback from alumni on their activities and how Pitzer can continue to help them; and supporting the Annual Fund and class scholarships .

Pitzer Parents Association

The purposes of the Parents Association have grown with the College. Originally formed as a close communication link between parents and the college during the beginning years, this original purpose has grown into a specific program. The Parents Association as a group responds to the College's needs by raising funds for scholarships and emergency loans, and sponsors events on campus which involve students, faculty, and parents.

National Issues Forum

Initiated in 1973, the National Issues Forum sponsors an annual event which brings nationallyprominent persons to the Los Angeles area to address the most important national issues . Speakers are chosen for their particular role in articulating important national questions; they offer definitions of why these questions are pressing, and proposing viable solutions. The Forum is supported by outstanding business and civic leaders.

The Academy

Through the concerned support of its members, The Academy, individually and collectively, encourages the scholarship, service, and leadership of Pitzer women and men, and recognizes excellence in teaching, counseling, and research among the Pitzer faculty.

Friends of Pitzer College

The Friends of Pitzer College is composed of a select group of people who are dedicated to the educational goals of Pitzer College. Members provide annual unrestricted contributions to the college for this purpose .

The Alliance

The Alliance brings leaders of business and professions into meaningful relationships with students and faculty. The purpose of The Alliance is to bridge two groups who, for years, have been dubious of each other - businessmen and students - within the particular context of Pitzer's program.

Independent Colleges of Southern California

Independent Colleges of Southern California, Inc ., is a nonprofit corporation organized to advance business' interest in private higher education. Through a unified program of giving, ICSC provides a vehicle for corporations and foundations to invest in quality education, and help private colleges meet rising costs.

Pitzer College thanks you for your support during the last year, and invites your participation in 1976-77.
