The Beer & Wine Garden will be open from noon-11 p.m., a cover charge of $5 will begin at 6:45 p.m. The Harvest Days vendor booths, which will include food, art, crafts and more, will be open from noon-dusk in the Fair- grounds Park area. A Classic Car Show will also be going on from noon-3 p.m. Entertainment on the Main Stage will kick off at 12:45 p.m. with the Harvest Days Talent Show. Anyone wishing to show- case their musical talents who submitted their entry prior to July 8 will perform during this event. There will be three different age groups – 7-12 years old, 13-16 years old and 17 years old and old- er. Solo and duo acts will be ac- cepted. Those who submitted their entries and who are selected as finalists will be contacted to com- plete the application, submit pa- rade fee and perform on Saturday. The winner of the talent show will being selected and perform at 6:45 p.m. A Kickball Tournament will be held from 1-4 p.m. in the West Field of the Little League fields, organized by Curtis Miller. There will be teams of four who will participate in different heats and brackets and the final win- ning team will compete against a “celebrity” team, made of lo- cal dignitaries and “celebrities” in a game at the end. Also from 1-4 p.m., in the East Field of the Little League fields, there will be Fireman’s Community Games. Participants from Clark County Fire & Rescue plan to organize a competition Tug-Of-War, which will include several different heats. Givens said they had also hoped to do some water games, but due to the city’s efforts to conserve water during the hot dry weather, she said they decided to forgo those. For the third year in a row, the Harvest Days geocaching event will also take place on Saturday at 2 p.m. This event will kick off in Lewisville Park and partic- ipants will search for different caches hidden throughout the Battle Ground area. Once par- ticipants find a certain number of caches, they will qualify to re- ceive a special geocoin made spe- cifically with the year’s Harvest Days theme in mind. The rest of the day will con- sist of a variety of entertainment on the Main Stage. At 2:30 p.m., a demonstration of Martial Arts will take place, followed by a performance from NW Rock Academy at 3:30 p.m. At 4:30 p.m., attendees can enjoy a per- formance by Ora Nui Tahitian Dance, followed by the Chil- dren’s Hula Hoop Contest at 5:15 p.m. From 6-6:30 p.m. there will be an intermission/stage ex- pansion and then the winner of the Talent Show will perform at 6:45 p.m. Country music singer Britnee Kellogg will perform at 7:45 p.m. and the headliner of the evening, country singer James Otto, will perform from 9-11 p.m. Community activities in and around BG during Harvest Days In some other areas of Bat- tle Ground aside from the Fair- grounds Park/Community Center area, activities will be going on during the Harvest Days Celebra- tion.
