In 1986 we acquired Sweco Fab, Inc., an ASME Code pressure vessel shop tocomplement our product line. In 1988 the major manufacturing facilities of both companies moved to our presentheadquarters in Houston, Texas. PT&P acquired the metal expansion joint business of RM Engineered Products, Inc. ofLadson, SC in 1995. The machinery and technology acquired provided the capability to manufacture thin-wall metalbellows. In 1997 PT&P acquired Ketema-U.S. Bellows of San Diego, CA, another major manufacturer of metal bellows.

Today, Piping Technology & Products, and its fully owned subsidiaries, Sweco Fab and U.S. Bellows are manufacturersof a wide range of products. The chart above shows the division of product lines between the three companies. Productsmanufactured by PT&P and its subsidiaries include:

PT&P’s manufacturing facilities arelocated near the Port of Houston, the largest port in the United States, for fast and convenient shipping around the world.PT&P/U.S. Bellows/Sweco have 450,000 square feet of covered shop space at our manufacturing facility in Houston.

As our long-time customers know, after many years on Long Drive here in Houston, PT&P purchased 7.2 acres on Holmes`Road in Houston, Texas in the summer of 1987. After upgrading the electrical systems, PT&P and Sweco Fab, Inc.,

ASME U-Stamp

PT&P’s ASME code fabrication shop, relocated to this new facility. Since that time, PT&P has continued to expand andimprove our work space at our Holmes Road Facility:

� 1991: PT&P adds 17,000 square foot warehouse for storage of hardware and assembly components and 6,000 squarefoot painting facility with modern environmental controls.

� 1992: PT&P obtains two adjacent properties, bringing our total plant area to 15.4 acres. This new space was used forthe production of polyurethane components for cryogenic pipe shoes and as assembly area for all pre-insulated pipesupports.

� 1995: PT&P Plant Expansion: 100,000 square feet of covered shop space is added to PT&P’s existing facility. Thisadditional space is used to receive and store raw materials and for staging and crating of materials which are ready forshipment.

� 1999: PT&P Plant Expansion II: an additional 100,000 square feet of covered shop space to increase PT&Pmanufacturing capacity for 1) pre-insulated pipe supports, 2) expansion joint products, and 3) general fabrication.

PT&P extends an invitation to all of its customers to come to Houston and visit the plant. This is the best way to see ourpeople, our facilities, and the many capabilities we have to serve you.

The designs presented in this catalog are PT&P standards, but, as always, “specials” which include modifications to meetcustomer needs and special applications, are a major part of our business. If you don’t find what you want on one of thesepages send us your requirements and we will work with you to fabricate what you require.

TECHNICAL CAPABILITIESTECHNICAL CAPABILITIESTECHNICAL CAPABILITIESTECHNICAL CAPABILITIESDevelopment of our technical personnel and their computerized tools is a major component of the progress at PipingTechnology & Products, Inc. The combination of recent engineering graduates with advanced mathematical training andexperienced fabricators who understand the current problems in our industry provides a powerful synergy for creative newideas. A number of special designs have been developed to solve unique customer problems.

Finite Element Analysis: Finite element analysis software is used to simulate the loads and resulting stresses which aparticular design might experience in the field. The diagram on the following page shows the finite element analysis of apipe shoe. These time and money-saving computer simulations are used to select designs for prototypes which we laterbuild for physical testing. Physical tests using hydraulic presses, load cells, and special snubber testing machines, allow usto test products with actual loads to confirm our design loads and safety factors. Temperature and pressure tests are alsoused when appropriate. This process is the key to rapid and cost-effective improvement of our products. Finite elementanalysis is also often used to prove special designs to our customer.

Electronic Data Interchange: PT&P regularly conducts electronic data interchange with customers. PT&P dedicates anin-house team of software developers and integrators to setup intra-company electronic processes that increase dataaccuracy and reduce cycle time.

Customer-Specific Product Databases: With certain customers, PT&P has created material take-off databases anddrawings for their pipe support standards. These systems allow PT&P to accurately and quickly fabricate standard designsused by major E&C firms. This also permits PT&P to modify and add to the data base quickly when customers create newdesigns.

We recognize that applying the tools of modern technology to our business is a large part of staying competitive in today’smarket. We have made significant progress in this area and we expect to continue improving our capabilities.
