Pinoy Arabia FM’s People’s Choice Award goes to Suico

Singing duo sensation Carlo Delfinado and Joanna Idia Slayton battled it out

among the best and bagged the grand prize in the “Sing Galing Duo” grand finals with their song “I’m your Angel” on Friday at the Discovery Theatre in Kuwait City organised by Pinoy Arabia FM — the most listened to Internet-based community ser-vice radio station catering to the Filipinos in Kuwait, the Middle East and across the globe as it celebrated its second anniver-sary with the “Sing Galing Duo” singing competition.

Delfinado and Slayton bested 16 other finalists and won the hearts of the board of judges composed of of Hedy Menen-dez (Universal American School Band Director), Charlotte Kluever (Universal American School Music Teacher), Iram Rehman (UK teacher), Frederick Acam-pado (UP Singing Ambassador Member-Tenor) and Jennifer Uy (Singing Champ/Vocal coach) who rated the finalists based on their voice quality (30 percent), blending and coordination (40 percent), consistency & vibrancy (10 percent), dynamics (10 percent) and showmanship (10 percent).

The duo champ was awarded round trip tickets to Manila by Philippine Airlines Sales Manager Hussam Farid, Certina Swiss Watches by Raj and Michael Olfindo of TikTok, LBC Gift Voucher from LBC Country Manager Rian Banaga plus KD 500 cash and trophies.

lola and Donna Caryl Melendez who won second place with their captivating rendi-tion of “From This Moment On” and went home with KD 300 cash, ticket voucher from Al Rashed International Travel Co while singing pair Nomer Cervantes and Ariane Linda who crooned a refreshing version of “How Deep is Your Love” landed on the third place and got KD 200 cash prize. Dylan Lapira and Ice Mijares got the fourth place with “Like I’m Gonna Lose You” while Charles Vincent Molaco and Beljore Jude Camello won fifth place with their version of “Ikaw Lamang.” They all received watches from TikTok.

On the other hand, the “People’s Choice Award” went to Richard Suico and Jhane Del Mundo after their semifinals video got the highest number of shares on Face-book. Jomelyn Dela Fuente of Al Rashed International Travel Company awarded the two with KD 250 ticket voucher and LBC Country Manager Rian Banaga handed them LBC gift voucher.

Present during the awarding ceremony were Philippine Ambassador to Kuwait Renato Pedro Villa and Assistant Labour Attache-POLO OIC Angelita Narvaez. Winners received trophies courtesy of Ali Abbas Karam Recruitment Agency.
