Company DescriptionPINES strives to provide the best possible green superfood prod-ucts to our customers. We also seek to help protect and restore farmland and wildlife areas, and to support our local and global community. Unlike other producers, all PINES farmers are sincere organic farmers, who follow organic practices on 100% of the land they cultivate.
PINES is not owned by one family, conglomerate or a multi-national corporation. It is owned through a cooperative effort of more than 100 individuals and families. Through its foundation, PINES supports waterkeeper programs, wildlife refuges, native prairie preservation and organizations devoted to sustainable agriculture and feeding those in need. The company continues to expand its organic farming acreage.
Established in 1976, PINES provides the only cereal grasses and alfalfa grown on the kind of glacial soils used in the original research. PINES still uses a laboratory that collected data for cereal grass research starting in 1935. PINES is also the ONLY wheatgrass product grown, harvested and packaged in accordance with that research. Unlike products from the parched lands of Western Kansas and Eastern Colorado, where the ancient waters of the Ogallala Aquifer are rapidly being depleted and contaminated by agribusiness, all PINES products are grown in regions with natural rainfall. The fields are never irrigated with ground water, which can be contaminated with chemicals and feedlot effluents from non-organic farmers.
PINES is certified organic by USDA, QAI, Kosher, OCIA and ICO and is a proud member of the Natural Products Association and The American Botanical Council.
Pines ingredients are verified non-gmo by the Non-GMO Project. Pines alfalfa is the only whole food alfalfa leaf for humans in the ingredient marketplace that is verified by the Project..

Technologies, Patents, New ProductsPINES now uses new state-of-the-art, low-temperature drying facilities that are computer controlled to insure the highest quality rawfood cereal grass and alfalfa. Unlike other drying facilities, all components used for the dried product are food grade stainless steel.
