What is a pig launcher / receiver

Piglauncher/receiverareintegralpartsofaPipeline.Theyallowtosafelyinspectandassessthestatusofapipeline,intermsofcorrosionandscaling,withoutheavyimpactofnormalpipelineoperations.Mentodesignsandsuppliespiglaunchersandreceiversasasingleequipmentorasaskidsystem,completewithvalvesandinstrumentation.Anessentialcomponentforpipelinemaintenanceandinlineinspection(ILI),piglauncherssendpigs,spheres,andILItoolsintothepipeline,whereupstreampressurepushesthemthroughtoareceiver.

Mentoconventionalpiglaunchersandreceiversaredesignedtomeetthepiggingrequirementsofpipelineownersandoperatorsworldwide.Madeforpipelinesfrom6inchesthrough42inches.Theyincludestandardfeaturessuchasquickopeningclosuresandoversizedbarrelsthateaseloading.CanaccommodatelongerlengthILItools.Design Codes: EN13445, ASME, Norsok, TR2000.Eachconventionallauncherandreceivercanalsobecustomized to meet product type, pigging purpose, and pipeline design considerations.Mentoalsoofferscompletepiglaunchingandreceivingsystems,withallcomponentsassembled,tested,andskid-mountedforefficient field installation.
