ABSTRACTIn this piezoelectric car the cars tires are made up of piezoelectric materials. The tires in this kind of car are made up of piezoelectric cables which in turn are made up of piezoelectric generators. When the tires move on the road continuous pressure is applied on the tires. This generates electricity as per the piezoelectric principle. The piezoelectric generator used in the car is a piezoelectric crystal which is in between two electrodes that are metallic in nature. Thus according to the piezoelectric effect, when mechanical stress is applied,

HISTORY OF PIEZO-ELECTRIC EFFECTPiezoelectricity was discovered in 1880 by Pierre and Paul-Jacques Curie, who found that when they compressed certain types of crystals cluding quartz, tourmaline, and Rochelle salt, along certain axes, a voltage was produced on the surface of the crystal. This effect is known as piezoelectric effect.

INTRODUCTIONPIEZO-ELECTRIC EFFECTThe piezoelectric effect describes the relation between a mechanical stress and an electrical voltage in solids. It is reversible an applied mechanical stress will generate a voltage and an applied voltage will change the shape of the solid by a small amount (up to a 4% change in volume). In physics, the piezoelectric effect can be described as the link between electrostatics and mechanics

APPLICATIONS OF PIEZO ELECTRIC EFFECTThis effect is exploited in a variety of practical devices such as microphones, phonograph and wave filters in telephone-communications systems and for electric power generation

PIEZOELECTRIC GENERATORSPiezoelectric generator is nothing but a piezoelectric crystal sandwiched between two metallic electrodes . So when the mechanical pressure/stress is applied on the crystal , emf is generated

ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF PIEZOELECTRIC GENERATORADVANTAGES1.It is widely used in industrial applications such as packing industries Buzzers , ultrasonic and sonar for the ultrasonic waves where operation is performed based on pressure . 2. No external source is used 3. It is eco-friendly

DISADVANTAGES1.environment effect 2.it is used for low power applications

PIEZOELECTRIC CARThis car is made up of piezoelectric tires. These tires are equipped with piezoelectric cables, these cables consist of piezoelectric generators. So when the tires are rotated on the road, pressure is applied on the tires continuously. Then they generate electricity

ADVANTAGES OF THE PIEZOELECTRIC CAR

1) The batteries in this car are self charged as the car is in motion. It is due to the power generated by the tires. So only onetime external charging is enough 2) By using Lead zirconate piezo crystal we can generate until 10000 volts by small deformations of the tire3) Eco friendly i.e., it does not pollute the environment.

CONCLUSIONThe electricity generated by the cables in the tire is used to feed the batteries that power up the car. This makes the batteries self-charging in nature and external charging is required for the very first time. This system is also eco-friendly in nature and does not cause any pollution the environment. If Lead Zircon ate piezo crystal is used then a generation of 100000 volts is obtained by deformation of tire
