everyone calls me PY
my name is Pierre-Yves Panis
Pierre-Yves Panis is Design Vice-President for Legrand where he leads a team of youngsters who design fancy light switches.He loves pasta, the Peugeot 504, maps of all sorts. He doesn't go to movies nearly often enough, eats too many pistachios and his feet are a bit small. He rows a mean 5000 meters on his Concept 2 rower and he can do a pretty decent handstand. He drives a Citroën. He makes amazing melted cheese sandwiches, a perfect soft boiled egg. He knows how to pick wine. His hair is greying but at least he has a hell of a lot of it, the only problem being that annoying bit on the right that sticks out funny no matter the haircut.His portfolio sadly includes a bunch of stuff that was never made, that was cancelled, changed, modified and/or ruined by management.

Don’t ask a Designer to design you a bridge,
instead ask her to deliver …the best way
to cross the river

Design: a misunderstood word;
But a revolutionary word which means thinking by, for and with users, customers, and citizens. For the company, it features a
synthetic vision of its offer and its processes, but beyond that, it offers a new keys to understanding the world around us.

Design TeamDesign is about creating new value for end-users. This is the distinctive thing about design compared with other drivers of innovation – it’s always focused on the end-user.
