Professional Experience
Walker-Hackensack-Akeley High School Choir/Musical Director Aug. 2015 – PresentCurrently teaching 5 – 12 grades choir, general music, and musical theatre for WHA High School and Elementary School in Walker, MN. Senior High had two major performances in the school year as well as four smaller performances. They also are going to be participating in two competitions this spring as well as assisting with the musical “Little Shop of Horrors.” Senior High Choir also participates in graduation, the Veterans Day Performance and the National Anthem at two major sporting events in the school year. Junior High performs in two major performances as well as sings the National Anthem at two major sporting events. 5th and 6th grade Choir performs in two major performances in the school year with the school band.
WKU Music Department: Head Choral Librarian Aug. 2012 – Dec. 2014Assistant with distributing, organizing, and maintaining records of music for WKU Chorale, Choral Society, Men’s Chorus, and Women’s Chorus. Assist conductors and professors with attendance. Assist with making preparations for major Concerts at WKU.
Glimmerglass Festival Young Artist Internship Summer 2014Drove performers to their designated rehearsal spaces. Assisted with special events with young artists throughout the summer. I observed professional rehearsals and preparations for major works. This festival is renown throughout the world for their performances.
WKU Learning Center: Front Desk Monitor Aug. 2012 – Aug. 2014Addressed customer questions, resolved conflicts, assisted with scheduling tutoring sessions, assisted students with academic advice, assisted with Excel cataloging.
Southern Kentucky Children’s Choir: Music Director Intern May 2013 – Jan. 2014Assisted with teaching, conducting, and performing of a variety of repertoire with children ranging from the 3rd grade to the 8th grade.
Research
WKU Opera Theater Outreach Program Aug. 2014 – May 2015Working closely with Dr. Liza Kelly on developing a program that integrates the history, form, and performances of famous Opera works into the public school education system. We will be going into the schools starting April 24th, 2015.
