Academics built on concrete strengths.A vision 118 years in the making: Piedmont College was founded in 1897. As proud as we are of our history, it is not in our nature to look back. All eyes are ahead – focused sharply on preparing you for your future.

A “keep it fresh” spirit: Serious effort goes into syncing our programs – in Arts and Sciences, Business, Education, and Nursing and Health Sciences – with the future. For instance, we offer a Bachelor of Science in Cardiovascular Technology, the only program of its kind in Georgia.

A passion for teaching: Being a good teacher is the number one measure of success for our faculty. It’s in our DNA. Even the president of the College and all of the academic deans teach classes. How many schools – of any size – can say that?

This direction? That direction? Your choice. We call it the Compass Program for good reason. It’s about exploring beyond the classroom – getting out there, trying new and different paths, and learning to guide yourself through internships, community service, and many other options. The experience you gain through matching your education to the world we live in will be included in your official college transcripts. Just think how that will set you apart in the eyes of employers and graduate programs.

Even our facilities are smart.When you tour our campus for the first time you will, of course, notice how attractive it is. You will also think, as you move from building to building (many of them new), “This is a college that really invests in its learning facilities.” From science labs to black box theater, from art studios to television studio, from lacrosse field to climbing wall, you can’t miss the quality.

A word about money.Some people don’t like to talk about the cost of college. We, on the other hand, are more than happy to do so. First of all, because it has to be discussed. Second of all, because it allows us to set aside the myth that Piedmont College isn’t affordable. Beyond traditional financial aid programs, we offer more than $10 million in scholarships and grants to our students. Your education means that much to us.

The world is yours.Give the globe a spin. No matter where it stops, there’s a good chance a Piedmont College student has visited and/or studied there. Travel Study, which happens during the summer semester, can send you packing to Italy, England, France, Russia, Japan, Germany…or you name it. Semester Abroad allows you to enroll for a full semester in a university in either England or Germany.

A quiet break. Revved-up events. Everything in between. You follow your own pace on campus.

Ready. Set. Go do your thing.For the joining type: Piedmont offers clubs that are just like our students – richly diverse in interests. You could get involved (another trait of our students) with the Literary Society, Outdoor Club, Biology Club, Radio Club and… You get the idea.

For the sports minded: In a word, intramurals. Get your game on in softball, indoor and outdoor volleyball, basketball, flag football, and tennis. You don’t have to be on a varsity team to be an athlete here.

For entertainment seekers: Grab tickets for visiting performers, compete in talent shows, or take in movie night (complete with popcorn). There are also Atlanta-centered shopping, sporting and theatrical events.

You’ll know a good thing when you live it.Just ask the 68% of Piedmont students who take up residence on campus each year. They will tell you it’s the fun, friend-making, connected thing to do. There are traditional residence halls, suite buildings and (new on the scene) a village of apartment-style living. No matter your exact address, you’ll find yourself part of a lively, caring community.

Nothing short of Wow!We are student-centered. It takes only one walk through The Commons to confirm that fact. This brand new (and frankly remarkable) building dedicates 58,000 square feet to student satisfaction – including dining facilities, fitness center, intramural sports gymnasium, climbing wall, conference area, and offices for student services and organizations. That’s a lot under one roof – and all for you.

Like in the movies. It’s hard to imagine a classic college experience without the classic green quad bordered by historic buildings. Piedmont has a beautiful (and popular) one. While we are constantly expanding our facilities, we take great care in maintaining this part of our history – an often-used part of campus where you might find (and join) friendly games of flag football, a group of friends picnicking, or a class studying on a nice day.

We can get a little artsy. That’s a good thing. The arts – from the visual to the performing – add a large dash of spice to campus life at Piedmont. Whether majoring in the arts or not, you have the “we’re-happy-to-have-you” opportunity to participate in plays and musicals, sing or play in a music ensemble, and keep your creativity active in many other ways. Not to mention the fun times you can have taking it all in from the audience.

It is said grit is the sign of a true athlete. We can confirm that.

Golf Channel (owned by NBC Universal) and

a 2013 graduate of Piedmont College. Her

former professor, Dr. Dale Van Cantfort says,

“Maria is a great example of what a student-

athlete can be at Piedmont College. She

played both golf and tennis, while also writing

for the school newspaper, hosting a weekly

radio show, serving on the Mass Comm

Student Leadership Council, and earning high

enough grades in her classes to be inducted

into the Mass Comm Honor Society.”

From our storied baseball history to the fielding of new sports – like lacrosse in 2012 – we have long put time and energy and resources into building and maintaining a powerful athletic program.
