VHF OSCILLATOR ALIGNMENT

The signal generator output lead should be terminated with Its characteristic Impedance, usually 50 ohms.Set the Fine Tuning to the center of Its range.Use only enough signal generator output to provide a usable Indication on scope. This procedure uses the traps of the Video IF strip. They must be In proper alignment before attempting to align the oscillator.

Adjust for maximum gain and symmetryof response similar to Fig. 201 withmarkers as shown. Adjust A214 to setmarker positions, A215 for proper tilt.

Adjust to obtain correct tilt on top of curveas in Fig. 202 to compensate for the tuningeffect of channel 13 .

Retouch A214 and A215 SLIGHTLY forsymmetrical response centered aboutmarker. Repeat steps 4 and 5 alternatelyuntil optimum response Is obtained onchannels 7 and 13.

Turn A217 counterclockwise until a singlepeak appears. (DO NOT unscrew far enoughto allow the core to fall out. ) Adjust A218until peak falls at 85MC. (It may be neces-sary to increase sweep generator output.)Adjust A219 for maximum amplitude andsymmetry of single peak.

Retouch A217 and A218 for responsesimilar to Fig. 203.
