Pastor Sam Rodebaugh, Winter Haven, FL, has received a call to Living Savior, Eden Prairie, MN. Choir cancellation: Due to concerns about COVID-19, the governor of Wisconsin has mandated closure of all public and private K-12 schools in Wisconsin until April 6. This includes extracurricular activities. The Regents and ILC administration have had lengthy discussions about this matter. We will be complying with the governor's mandate for our high school (college and seminary yet to be determined). The students have been directed to return home for spring break with their books in case online classes become an alternative. Besides the obvious concern for exposure to the virus, part of the problem in retaining the original Tour Choir schedule is that students would get done with tour and then have down time away from home until classes might questionably resume. Therefore it has been decided to discontinue the Texas portion of this year's Tour Choir schedule and delay the concerts for Austin, Sioux Falls, Sleepy Eye, Mankato, Fridley, and Red Wing with some other potential adjustments. The primary plan is to possibly have the tour during the Easter break (April 9-12), or after graduation as a secondary plan. The situation will be closely monitored so that a well-informed decision can be made for the well-being and best interests of all involved. Please pray for our school and for our choir. Missionary call: Over the past two years the Board of Missions has fielded a number of questions about the calling of the third full- time missionary following the 2018 Convention. According to the resolution passed at that Convention the Board of Missions was “authorized to call a third full-time missionary" and a mechanism was offered to fund the costs of this missionary. The calling did not begin immediately because our second missionary was refused entry back into India and the Board had to decide where to send him before structuring the call of the third missionary. In the time since Missionary Evensen was resettled in Togo, the Board of Missions has issued several calls, but a number of factors have played a roll in the Board’s decision to suspend calling for the time being, one of which was the financial situation our synod was facing at the end of the year. Another factor is the mechanism by which the third missionary was to be funded and concerns the Board of Missions has regarding that. It is hoped that these issues can be addressed at the upcoming 2020 Convention so that we can resume calling. 10 Good morning and welcome to our visitors! Closing hymn: I Want to Walk as a Child of the Light

© 1970, 1975 Celebration. Used by permission: LSB Hymn License .NET, no. 100013843.

P O almighty God, merciful Father, C I, a poor, miserable sinner, confess unto You all my sins and iniquities with which I

have ever offended You and justly deserved Your temporal and eternal punishment. But I am heartily sorry for them and sincerely repent of them, and I pray You of Your boundless mercy and for the sake of the holy, innocent, bitter sufferings and death of Your beloved Son, Jesus Christ, to be gracious and merciful to me, a poor, sinful being.

P Upon this your confession, I, by virtue of my office, as a called servant of the Word,

announce the grace of God unto all of you, and in the stead and by the command of my Lord Jesus Christ I forgive you all your sins in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

C Amen. Gloria

We bring our offerings to You, not as a means by which we seek to gain a blessing, but as a thank offering for the free gift of salvation which is already ours by faith.

In these uncertain times keep in our minds and hearts that which we can always rely upon in every circumstance: Your Word, Your love, and Your constant care for body and soul. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Lord’s Prayer

Hymn 773 (Worship Supplement): Rise, Shine, You People!

Benediction P The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you. The Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace.

Offering hymn 179:

On my heart imprint Thine image, Blessed Jesus, King of Grace, That life’s riches, cares, and pleasures Have no pow’r Thee to efface. This the superscription be: Jesus, crucified for me, Is my Life, my hope’s Foundation, And my Glory and Salvation.

Prayer of the Church

Pastor: plain type.

Cong: underlined, boldface type.

Dear Lord God: On the first day of creation You said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. Since then humankind has been blessed with physical light and all it provides. We thank You for the light of this new day and the life and opportunities it brings.

Especially we praise You for the light of the knowledge of Jesus Christ as the Savior of the world which You created within our hearts by the gracious working of the Holy Spirit. In the light of Jesus’ cross we see our forgiveness and peace with You. In His light we receive meaning and purpose to our time here and eternal life in glory to anticipate hereafter.

Through our reading and study of Your Word open our eyes and ears to see and hear Your words of correction, instruction, and forgiveness. Lead us to walk as children of light and not turn aside into the darkness of sin and unbelief. Call to repentance all who have strayed and restore to them the joy of Your salvation.

In mercy take pity upon us and deliver us not only from eternal death but also from every evil and danger that threatens our lives here on earth. According to Your will provide relief from the suffering and disruptions caused by the coronavirus. May those who are sick soon recover and may schools and other vital services soon reopen and resume their work for the benefit of our communities. Protect health workers and others on the front lines who are caring for the sick. Give wisdom to our leaders in government and prosper their efforts at containing the spread of the virus. Rather than giving in to fear and panic, may all look up to You for comfort and encouragement. May each of us be ready to share Your Word with those among whom we live and work.

Salutation and Collect of the Day

P The Lord be with you.

The Collect prayer:

P: Let us pray:

Almighty God, our heavenly Father, Your mercies are new every morning; and though we deserve only punishment, You receive us as Your children and provide for all our needs of body and soul. Grant that we may heartily acknowledge Your merciful goodness, give thanks for all Your benefits, and serve You in willing obedience; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

Epistle lesson: Ephesians 5:8-14

Living in the light of the Lord shows in fruits of faith. P Blessed are they who hear the Word of God and keep it. Amen.

Gospel Reading:

P The Gospel lesson is recorded in John 9:1-7, 13-17, 34-39.

A man’s blindness was the Lord’s opportunity to show His power and love.

P This is the Word of the Lord.

Apostles’ Creed

C I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
