Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt Weimar Piano Minor General Requirements for the Audition The requirements do not apply to the subjects choir conducting and orchestral conducting (see the specific requirements of the two subjects). Bachelor of Music For the piano minor, pieces of the following difficulty level must be presented, unless different requirements are stated in “Special Requirements of the Audition / Entrance Exam”:

J. S. Bach, Little Preludes and Fugues M. Clementi, F. Kuhlau or the like, sonatina or fast movement of a sonatina R. Schumann, Album for the Young

Length: ca. 10–15 minutes For applicants in jazz, requirements are the following:

Presentation of a written / notated composition as well as a jazz piece (Leadsheet Notation)

Bachelor of Education Performance of three piano pieces from various musical eras in a medium level of difficulty (ca. 10 minutes) Bachelor of Arts Applicants are asked to present two pieces from different periods, reflecting their current pianistic abilities. This test is intended mainly to assign applicants to the various levels of piano tuition offered as part of the programme. The difficulty of the chosen pieces should be at least equivalent to the following:

Johann Sebastian Bach: Two-Part Inventions BWV 772–786, or Three-Part Sinfonias BWV 787–801

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Piano Sonatas KV 545, 570, etc. Ludwig van Beethoven: Piano Sonatas op. 49, nos 1, 2 Robert Schumann: Scenes from Childhood op. 15, or Album for the Youth op. 68 Claude Debussy: Children's Corner
