Physician Scientist Positions Pediatric Oncology Experimental Therapeutics Program Penn State Children’s Hospital Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine The Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at the Penn State Children’s Hospital is recruiting physician scientists for its newly established Pediatric Oncology Experimental Therapeutics Program. This Program is supported by a $10 M endowment from the Four Diamonds Fund of the PSU College of Medicine, part of a $20 M endowment supporting the Four Diamonds Pediatric Cancer Research Institute. The mission of the Experimental Therapeutics Program is to promote the development of new therapies for children with cancer from the laboratory bench to the clinic. This will include support for bench research to identify new drug targets, development of new drugs and therapeutic modalities, and clinical trials. Rank is at the Assistant to Full Professor level commensurate with the applicant’s experience and accomplishments. Both physician scientists and clinical investigators with an established track record in this field are encouraged to apply. Board eligibility in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology is required. The Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology has 8 full-time Pediatric Hematologists/Oncologists and 5 Ph.D. faculty. Over 100 new oncology patients are seen annually, and there are programs in pediatric stem cell transplantation, neuro- oncology, hemophilia, and sickle cell disease. The division has an accredited Pediatric Heme/Onc fellowship program and is an active member of COG. The Four Diamonds Pediatric Cancer Research Institute includes NIH-funded basic science and translational research in vaccine therapy, immune modulation after BMT, hematopoiesis, and leukemia. The Four Diamonds Fund, an NIH-supported General Clinical Research Center, Pediatric Clinical Trials Office, and the Penn State Cancer Institute all support clinical investigation. The inpatient and outpatient facilities provide an excellent environment for patient care and clinical research. The Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center at Baylor UniversityMedical Center in Dallas is recruiting a physician investigatorto lead its program in Hematologic Malignancy Research. The candidate should have a proven track record in clinical/translational research with an interest in leukemia,lymphoma, myeloma and/or hematopoietic stem cell (HSC)transplantation. The selected individual will assume leadershipin the development of a world-class and highly recognizedHematologic Malignancy Research Program and will report tothe Director of the Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center/Chiefof Oncology. Baylor has an active clinical hematologic malignancy service and a HSC program performing over 300transplants per year.

Qualifications: Must be a mature, experienced physician (MD,MD/PHD or DO) with national distinction in the field of hematologic malignancy research. Must be able to work effectively with clinicians, medical directors, research scientists, hospital leaders and community leaders in a matrixenvironment. Must have proven administrative experience.Must be eligible for an obtain and maintain license as a doctorof medicine or osteopathy in the State of Texas.
