TRANSCRIPT
FEET, FOCUS, GRIP
Feet behind line and slightly apart
Balanced and relaxed, bend knees
Right foot forward for right handed shooters
Feet and shoulders should be facing the basket
FOCUS – eyes on back of the rim
GRIP – Hold ball within hand
Shooting hand facing target
Ball Position/Elbow
• Keep elbow in close to body
• Elbow, wrist, hand and ball all in line with the basket
• Ball should be within body
• Non shooting hand on side of ball for stability
THE SHOT
• Full arm extension straight toward the basket
• Shoot up not out – arc not flat/no Shaq
• Speed of shot• Hold wrist snap to
focus of basket
FOLLOW THROUGH
• Finish and hold for one full second to the basket
• Eyes remain fixed on target until ball goes in basket
• Stay balanced and on ground
SHOT ERROR/CORRECTION
1. Right or left of basket
ERROR CORRECTION
2. Short or ball hits backboard directly behind basket
2. Speed of the Shot – faster or slower
1. Aim, Elbow not in line with basket, or follow through
3. Flat shot hitting rim or backboard and returning directly back to shooter
3. Elbow not in line with basket, extend to top of backboard for more arc

• Follow through is good but looks like it is forward and not up. Flat shot, no arc
• Feet are not apart and balanced
What is the correction?
• Elbow is out and not in line with body
• Feet are close and shooter is not balanced
Error & Correction #1
• Straight shot hits rim or falls short – Less speed or elbow/shoot up/arc
GOOD ERROR• Ball hits back of rim/backboard
Error & Correction #2
• Shot goes to left or right of the rim– Focus or Follow Through
GOOD ERROR• Ball is short or hits backboard behind the rim

•Am I holding my follow through, is it good?
•Are my feet on the ground?
•Has my position changed?
When filling out your portfolio ask yourself key questions and answer WHY
•Are my feet in the correct position

•Can I see my grip, is it okay?

• Short – replaced right with straighter shot

TEAMWORK – working together with others to achieve a common goal. Each individuals within their team contributes equally, each doing a part and putting aside personal pride by focusing on TEAM accomplishment.
SPORTSMANSHIP – respect for the opponent (team you are playing against). Interacting in a positive way to the opponent during competition. (example: defense, playing effort)

ANASHE – move around and get open to shoot more
ANITA and ARMEN need to pass the ball to Anashe and take fewer shots
ANI seems to be the only player trying to shoot equally
