Capital Resources – goods made by people and used to produce other goods and
services, such as machines, tools, and buildings

Consumers – people who buy goods and services
Goods – things that people make or use to satisfy needs and wants
Services – activities that satisfy people’s needs and wants
Specialization – occurs when people focus on doing one thing (job); encourages trade
because people want goods and services that they do not have so they trade for them
Economic Choices – making decisions about how to meet needs or wants
Opportunity Cost – when a person gives up a need or a choice in order to meet
another need or want
Economic Decision Making requires comparing both the opportunity cost and the
monetary cost of choices and their benefits.
