Shoot title: Fizzy Strawberries
Aim: the aim of this photoshoot is to capture the bubbles of the sparkling water around strawberries. The fizzy water creates
little air pockets in the bubbles which will make the image interesting and unique.
Techniques: I will be setting up a white blank paper background behind the objects and at the bottom of the glass to give
an impression of an empty space. I will create a mini set up for the backdrop of this shoot. I will be putting a few strawberries in a long glass and pouring the fizzy water into the glass. Fresh fizzy water I think will give the best results as the soda is still fully gassy and there is a lot of movement in the liquid and air around the fizz. Continues setting is not necessary
as there is no fast action in this photoshoot.
Equipment: Nikon D3300 camera will be used with a standard tripod to avoid any shakes. Assistance is not needed as I
think this is an easily attempted photoshoot because it does not require complicated resources.
Location: I will be photographing this shoot indoors in my house near a window to allow me to use the natural lighting
resource, I may however need to use some reflectors to reflect light into the areas where it is not bright enough for a desired effect.
Obstacles: the obstacles I may have to face are the conditions of lighting in the house, certain weathers such as cloudy would give me too dark an effect on my photos and using house lights might be too harsh as it will be a direct source of light. Artificial set of lights could not be used as it is not practical to bring the lights everywhere because of the weight and the size
of the equipment.
EVIDENCE OF SELECTIONS: TOP 5
The composition of the strawberries are neatly displayed in the glass, this makes the eyes look at the image in order of top to bottom.
The natural lighting from the window gives the photograph a good quality of lighting.
The shadows in the background creates depth to the glass which gives it a sense of dominance.
Rule of thirds is used in this shot which makes the middle strawberry the first thing that the eye sees.
White background makes the eye focus only
on the strawberries in the glass.
A reflector was used in this shot from both sides which makes the image
bright overall.
Close up composition allows the eyes to see the details of the fizzy
water all over the strawberries.
Exposure 1/400 makes the subjects in this image to appear sharp.
The landscape shot in this image is to experiment what orientation
creating a best view for the subject.
ISO 1600 is used which makes the image looks cloudy as natural
lighting is only used.
EVIDENCE OF SELECTIONS: TOP 2
Central composition makes it easier to see as it makes the image balanced and equal on both
sides.
ISO 1600 settles the colours making it balanced with the background which apply shadows
giving the image some depth.
The strong colours of red against the white captures the eye and make them look closely at
the details of the strawberries.
A slight over exposed setting of ISO 6400 makes the strawberries stand out in the photograph which shows that the fruits are the main focus
overall.
ORIGINAL & EDIT
FINAL IMAGE
The post procution edit technique of adding saturation colour makes the photo look bolder as it has made the strawberries appear more vivid and stronger resulting in more appetising
appearance. Addition of exposure to make the image appear brighter which intrigues the viewer more by
having a brighter image than the original.
Shutter speed of 1/320 second makes the image sharper without making it too dark, this outlines the details of fizzy water clearly.
Exposure of F/5.6 makes the background blur which lets the focus of the photo be the strawberries in the glass, this makes the viewer see what I want them to focus on.
