Choice:

What part of the subject to include in the photo?

Should it be framed horizontally or vertically?

Horizontally framed photos

They are best for:

• When an object is horizontally placed or is wider than it is tall.

• For objects in motion, since it leaves room for movement

• To visually enlarge the space (landscape photography)

Vertically framed photos

They are best for:

• When the object is taller than it is wide

• When the object is moving vertically• When the goal is to focus on a

particular object (decreased distraction from the surroundings)

Simplify and enhance the focus on photos with using

uncomplicated backgrounds, avoiding unrelated elements,

using contrast.

Greater dynamic - placing the object outside the center

Generally, pictures with objects directly in the center are experienced as

more static and less interesting from the photos that set the object outside

the center.
