Photography class is one of my favourite class. Every time we learn something new and different. For example, this time, we learnt about the different rules and techniques revolving around photography and film-making.First thing we learnt about was The Rule of Thirds. This rule is a ‘rule of thumb’ or a guideline which is applied on visual images such as films, paintings, photographs. The guideline states that an image should be divided into nine equal parts by two equally spaced horizontal lines and two equally spaced vertical lines, and that the subject of the image should be placed along these lines or their intersections. Here is the picture I took.

Next thing we learnt about was the Shot-Reverse Shot. This is a film technique where one character is shown looking at another character (often off-screen) and then the other character is shown looking back at the first character. Since the characters are shown facing the opposite directions, the viewer assumes that they are talking to each other. Here is my attempt at it shown through photographs:

Furthermore, we learnt about the 180° Rule. This rule is a cinematography guideline that states that two characters in a scene should maintain the same left/right relationship to one another. When the camera passes over the invisible axis connecting the two subjects, it is called crossing the line and the shot becomes what is called a reverse angle. Here is my example:
