Venice Carnival

In the history, the habit of masking inVenice came from the desire of transgres-sion or simply not to be recognized. Duringthe Carnival, which began the first days of

October, around the city you could met ac-robats, jugglers, tumblers, all accompaniedwith lively music and the markets sold driedfruits, chestnuts, and pancakes.

In the eighteenth century, famous personal-ities were lived in Venice, such as Casanova,Tiepolo and the playwright Carlo Goldoni,who, in a poem dedicated to the Carnival,describes the spirit of the festival:

Qui la moglie e l il maritoOgnuno va dove gli par

Ognun corre a qualche invito,

chi a giocar chi a ballar.

Palazzo Ca' ZanardiThe Palazzo Ca' Zanardi is an historical palace of XVIcentury which has been expanded by various famousvenetian families and it is among the most beautifuland elegant palaces of Venice.

Ca' Zanardi is close to the Ca' d'Oro, a splendid fif-teenth-century Gothic-style mansion overlooking theGrand Canal, this did not hinder the fact that the struc-ture is well sheltered from the most crowded tourist at-tractions and is easily accessible by private landing onthe impressive canal S. Catherine, however twominutes from the ferry stop Ca' d'Oro.

The refined elegance of the rooms and the commonareas, the refinement echoed in the ancient glories ofthe sixteenth century original furniture and decorationcreate the alchemy ideal for gala dinners in costume.

ProgramONE DAY WORKSHOP

Sunday morning: Arrival and lunch.

Afternoon: full-immersion dedicated to photography in the beautiful setting of a typical Venetian loca-tion. If the weather allows it is possible to use external sets.

14.30 Meeting - will be dealt with on the field many aspects of photography that will be presented in aself-managed by professionals invited to the workshop.Shots around Venice accompanied by a photographer and an assistant. The masks willbe present to produce vivid photographic sets.

17.00 Sunset and Blue hours outside shots in the historic center. The

masks will be present to liven up the photographic sets.

18.30 Evening - We start with an aperitif followed by dinner (typicalVenetian) with reserved seat for each guest.The evening will be accompanied by a string quartet.There will be also photographic sets with the masks avail-

able.

24.00 End Event - maximum time.

The event is private and the public can participate only by invitation.If the weather does not permit, the workshop takes place entirely inside the Palace.

The event will take place with a minimum of 50 participants.At the time of registration is required a deposit of 100.00 and the balance within November 18th.

RECOMMENDED:

- Comfortable clothing and shoes.- Carry only the bare essentials and organize in the most convenient way for the transport of the material.

- A tripod is recommended.- Just during the Saturday evening it is necessary to dress in black.
