to come to our Holiday PARTY on January 16, 2016! Held at Normandie Farm, 10710 Falls Road,Potomac MD.Doors open at 5:30 pm for cocktails, with a cash bar. We have the largest dining room with 2 beautiful fireplaces! Located in close-in Potomac MD, what a lovely setting, plus there is ample parking to display our cars! What an awesome sight that will be to see all our Mercedes lined up together!Our annual holiday dinner is the one time of year we can all come together to celebrate the past year and excitedly talk about the future. If you are a new member in 2015, please make a special effort to come to this event. We would love to meet you and welcome you in person to the club at the holiday party! We invite all of you who have faithfully supported and been involved with the club for so many years to attend this our annual celebration! Membership pins will be presented along with Member of the Year Awards! We will also have wonderful raffle prizes thanks to the support of area dealerships and businesses!The menu this year is outstanding. An appetizer and dessert are included
and there will be a special surprise, so attend to find out what it will be. You will have your choice of 1 out of the following 3 entrees: Tournedos of beef with sautéed mushrooms. Vegetable. Lasagna with Portobelo mushrooms. Or, petite filet mignon and lump crab cake (A combination entree.)Sign in will begin with the cocktail reception at 5:30 pm. Join us for a drink (cash bar) and relax and mingle with all your friends before dinner begins. Please make your reservations early! You can register online for $60 per person. The President’s Corner
What a wonderful year 2015 was for our Club! So many great events for our members, and lots of fun, making it memorable! The great thing about our Club is that we have such diverse events that there really is something for everyone.Beginning in the Spring, we had an Autocross (AutoX) every month. What fun! This is the perfect way to get to know your car better and fine tune your driving skill. These Sunday get-togethers made a warm, friendly way to start the week. The year continued the long standing tradition of the Deutsche Marque where many Club members displayed their cars, some for throphys others just to be there. Omar, with his band of volunteers, put together a great Concours. There was great camaraderie and lots of last-minute polishing going on as members vied for the awards.Of course, who can forget our annual summer picnic at the home of Barbara and Steve Newby, Once again, a huge thank you to them for opening up their home and expansive grounds to us for that day! Not only was there delicious food along with live music, but “M-B Specialists” were there to give demonstrations. One of the “Specialists” was our Club’s own Rick Schubert, a long-time Mercedes-Benz employee, who gave an amazing demonstration about paint and body work. This year we were able to offer the MBCA Silver Star certification, as well during the Concours.We had a great DIY and an amazing Mercedes-Benz High Milegage Certification and Service Clinic event, both held at our sponsoring Mercedes-Benz dealerships. As Fall rolled around, we held our Annual Meeting combined with our New Member Reception in Mount Vernon VA. A big thank you goes to Steve and Jeanne Brooks for hosting the event! Another thank you, goes to Omar for coordinating a concours at this event. While it was a windy day, it was still fun to be with everyone. If you are a new member and didn’t have the opportunity to be welcomed at this event, please mark January 16 on your calendar, and sign up to attend our Holiday Dinner at Normandie Farms in Potomac Maryland.With the New Year here, I want to thank all of you for giving so much of your time and talent. Another huge thank you goes out to all of our Sponsors! We so appreciate your contributions! As a Club, we are only as good as the time and talent that all can bring forth. Please let any Board Member know about any special interests that you have. Currently, we are looking for someone who is interested in doing a newsletter and someone interested in putting on social and special events. If you are interested in writing, we would like to hear from anyone who would like to write a short article after each of our events, With enough volunteers, we’d be asking for just one article a month! Please think about these volunteer opportunities, and feel free ti reach me any time at 240-381-2286...texting is best!.WISHING EVERYONE A SAFE AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!
