When it rains for a long period of time, therewill be a lot of clouds covering the sun, therefore, the plants cannot grow as much.
When the plants dont grow, fish have tocompete to get to the plants that are still alive.
When a prey of some type has a very smallpopulation, the predators that eat that prey
have to compete to eat that animal.

Type ofSymbiosis
Example
Mutualism Moray eel gets a clean mouth, andthe cleaner fish gets food.
Commensalism Barnacles travel on whales to gainaccess to nutrient-rich waters.
Parasitism A copepod attached to a sharkdamages the cornea of the shark andcan cause many other sicknesses.

Most aquatic ecosystems are replaced byterrestrial ecosystems. Aquatic ecosystemsreceive continuous inputs of soil particles and
organic matter. As sediment increases, waterdepth decreases.

When a volcano on the ocean floor erupts andthe pioneer species have already died off, thiscreates soil making it able for plants to start
growing on it.

Carbon DioxideThings that add oxygeninto the atmospherewould be when the ocean
takes in carbon dioxidefrom the air.Things that add carbondioxide into the air wouldbe volcanoes under theocean and the burning offossil fuels in boats.

Two ways water gets from the ground to the air wouldbe from trees (transpiration) and from the ocean
(evaporation).

1. Nitrogen must be fixed and turned intoammonia.
2. Ammonia then picks up H+ ions and becomesammonium.
3. Ammonium converts into nitrites.
4. Nitrites convert to nitrates.
5. Plants use nitrates to make amino acids.(assimilation)
6. Animals get the nitrogen when they eat.
7. Denitrafacation- anaerobic bacteria break downnitrates and release nitrogen gas into the air.

Biodiversity in the ocean is very large becausethere are many types of fish and other animalsthat live in the ocean.

Air Pollution:
-When the air has pollution in it, the pollutionstarts to absorb into the ocean, slowly acidifying it.
Acid Rain:-When acid rain gets into our oceans, it acidifiesthe ocean killing numerous plants and animals
Water Pollution:
-kills animals and plants
Non-Native Species:
-take over the species already living there.

Boating- damages habitats of the fish.
Major Storms- washes fish away from theirhabitats
Oil spills- causes the sun not to be about topenetrate the water causing the animals thatneed oxygen (dolphins, etc..) not to be able toreceive it.
