Rachael is a delightful member of Room 1. She
always shows kindness and care to her
classmates and helps out when people need her.
We are very lucky to have Rachael at our school.
You are a star !!!
Rooms 0/1 had some
‘rugby skills’ training this
afternoon. Over the course of the
term each class will have
the same opportunity.
Many thanks to JD & MSP Rugby Club
Dear Parents, I hope you all had a restful holiday and managed to spend time with your families. The next 2 weeks will be very busy as we make the final preparations for our ERO visit. As a school we are looking forward to sharing the new incentives we have put in place and the improvements we have made to the way we manage our assessment, and plan for the needs of our learners. ERO will be in an out of the classrooms observing teachers and classroom programmes and we know that everyone will make them feel welcome. Congratulations and thanks this week to:
Mrs Holland who is now a Nana to little Jack
Brenda and Chrissy who really were super busy in the last week of school
Katie and Vikki who have been working very hard alongside me helping prepare for ERO
Alyssa Chin, Lexie Steele, Hayden Archer, Callum Prowse for distinction in ICAS maths:
Juliette Archer scored high distinction in the ICAS maths Cellphones/iphones/Electronic Devices After a number of issues with cellphones and other electronic devices we have decided that while we are happy for them to be brought to school, they will be handed into the teacher at the start of the day and returned to students at 3:00pm. The phones will be locked away for safe keeping during the day. Classes for 2013 Thank you to those of you who have already contacted me regarding this. Please feel free to email me if you have any concerns or considerations you would like us to take into account before we finalise classes. Sunhats During Term 4 it is compulsory for the students to have sunhats at school. Please ensure that your child comes to school every day with their sunhat. School Uniform Just a reminder that after Labour weekend all students must be in summer uniform. God bless Jillian
The response to the Community Engagement Survey has been MASSIVE. 88 responses from a community of 130 families is a fantastic result and in itself speaks of a strong desire to input into the direction of the School. Rob Gourdie is currently compiling and analysing the results, and a summary will be made publicly available shortly. In addition to the Community survey, a Student survey has also been conducted and the Board of Trustees is also conducting a Staff survey as well. For those who missed the deadline for the survey but contacted Rob, he put you in the draw for the Family Hamper just the same. The Board of Trustees will be meeting in the next few weeks to go through the rolling three year Strategic Plan and will be using this feedback as a key input into the process.
The Day family are the winner of the Family Fun Pack for completing the survey. Congratulations to Tracy,
Emily (Rm 0) & family.
He said to them, "The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; Luke 10:2 This term we are studying ‘Everyday Saints’, looking at people who help others or have helped changed society for the better in some way. These could be small ways or something momentous. Actually when we look around our world, there seems to be much we would like to change for the better, in other words ‘the harvest is abundant’. This term let us think about what being ‘a laborer’ for God means for each of us. How are we called to bring God’s peace, love and forgiveness to our world?

Congratulations to Stephen Murdoch who will captain the Wellingon
Firebirds in the Plunket shield competition this summer. (Stephen is Mary
Blair’s nephew)
& from our ‘older’ boys file— if you have been following the Lance
Armstrong story you would have heard statements from the
President of WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency - based in Canada) & YES !
The President of WADA is a St Tez old boy. We know this because when he
was the Premier of NSW he called in to show the ‘Mrs’ around his old
school ! Make a note - I think that might be a quiz night question in the
future — the answer would be John Fahey !
Elena King’s team got a BRONZE medal in
in the Spring Carnival Cheerleading
Competition in Auckland. GOOD FOR YOU !
WAY TO GO ATHENA from
Room 7 — She won the
GOLD Medal in the
National Tae Kwon do
Championship in
Auckland in the holidays
WELL DONE TO LAURA
