DISTRICT DEVELOPMENT AND DROUGHT MITIGATION, OSMANABAD.
TATA INSTITUTE OF SOCIAL SCIENCES, TULJAPUR CAMPUS, TULJAPUR, OSMANABAD, MAHARASHTRA.
Osmanabad district administration has launched a number of initiatives for development of the district. This includes promotion of farmers’ group, farmers’ producer companies, management of water resources, and development of regional clusters of economic activities, and productions based on local specificity and environmental conditions. The District Administration has sanctioned a research study to Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Tuljapur Campus, to examine the policies initiated and implemented by the district administration and their impacts in terms of overcoming the distress of farmers and boosting their economies. The study also aims at, on the basis of findings, to recommend the policy measure to further strengthen the existing schemes for the development of farmers in the district and to initiate additional measures, if required.
Requirement of 1 Research Fellow
The Project requires 1 Research Fellow to work on the study at TISS Tuljapur Campus and with District Administration (Collector’s Office), and take up field studies in the district as and when required. The minimum qualification for the post is Master’s degree in social sciences or any related disciplines. Candidates with proven record of quality scientific writing will be given preference. The candidates with MPhil / PhD degree are encouraged to apply for the post of Research Fellow.
Pay for Research Fellow: Consolidated pay for Rs.35000/- per month.
Duration of appointment: One year. Detailed appointment letter with terms and conditions will be issued later. The post is likely to be continued for one more year.
An Interview and written test will be conducted at TISS Tuljapur Campus. The date and time will be intimated to the applicants.
