Access to Current branch and Current branch for Business

• So people will never need to buy Windows client again?

Kind of; Windows will continually update for the life of the device.

• Will there be a way for customers to purchase specific LTSB versions without having SA?

Yes, but we haven’t published pricing yet.

• How often will Microsoft have a Long Term Servicing Branch?

Every 2-3 years.Customers should receive 3-6 months notice of new LTSB releases.

• What happens if I defy Microsoft and don’t install the updates?

Your OS will become unsupported.

And somewhere in the world, a puppy will cry

• What perpetual rights does a customer retain if they don’t renew SA after the Windows 10 launch?

Perpetual rights to the edition or LTSB at the end of the SA.

However, CBB for enterprise edition is an SA benefit so they will not receive future feature updates.

• What if a customer doesn’t want to update beyond a certain monthly release of Windows 10 and they don’t have Software Assurance?

SA or an Enterprise edition allows a customer to remain at a LTSB without needing to apply future feature updates.

Any other circumstances will need to have an evergreen Windows OS.
