1. TARGET PUBLIC TRANSPORT CORRIDORS & CORRIDOR ANALYSIS

2

East‐west and Southwest transport corridors were selected as the target Public Transport corridor of the preF/S based on the public transport development scenario and the following corridor analysis result:

• A relatively high passenger demand of around 72,500 to 81,600 trips/day in 2035.

• The route connects between urban center and rapid urbanized western fringe area.

• The route connects with several intense traffic generation nodes, i.e. Phnom Penh airport, train depot and bus terminal facilities.

• A large‐scale private development plan for the central district is underway.

• Various land use patterns are seen along the corridor.

• It is possible to serve future transport demand by bus feeder network from south and north.

3. Evaluation of Rout AlternativeThe optimum route forthe preliminary F/S isselected from the fouralternatives through theevaluation on the eightviewpoints. Eachevaluation item is givenpoints: 3 for good, 2 forfair and 1 for worse. However, since cost is themost important items forthe route evaluation, itspoint is multiplied by 2.Alternative 3‐1 receivedthe highest point asshown in the Table.
