Cooperative campus lab or local lab Occupational Outlook and Earnings: Employment of phlebotomists is projected to grow 27% from 2012 to 2022, much faster than the average for all occupations. Hospitals, diagnostic laboratories, blood donor centers, and other locations will need phlebotomists to collect specimens. Technological advances will encourage additional testing which will require more employment of technicians like phlebotomists to perform simple procedures.
