    Conducted 225 capacity building programs for local governmentunits in the areas of planning, product development, statistics,policy and governance, as well as for industry workers to enhanceskills and competencies

    Spearheaded the development of 217 tourism products in thevarious regional destinations under the leadership of the regionaloffices, to provide livelihood and jobs for local communities andspur local economic growth

    Accredited 3,441 tourism enterprises that include accommodation

    facilities, travel and tour companies, tour guides and touristtransport

    Developed the new standards for tourism accommodationfacilities and the new hotel rating system

    Pursued convergence programs with:

    DENR Biodiversity Partnership Program which will focus on ecotourismdevelopment in eight (8) key biodiversity area

    DILG Local Economic Development which will enhance LGUs capacityto plan and develop their tourism potentials in select areas of Regions V,VI, VII, VIII and XII. Currently, new sites will be identified in coordinationwith the DOT

    DA Agritourism Program to harness farm-to-tourism sites products thatwill raise income of local communities while providing alternativetourism experience for foreign and domestic visitors

    DOTC Airport, Seaport and Land Transport Development focus onprioritizing the upgrading, rehabilitation, improvement and constructionof new facilities and improving services (NAIA, Cebu, Kalibo, Bohol,Puerto Princesa, etc)
