Philanthropic Adviser For a century, the Greater Milwaukee Foundation has helped individuals, families and organizations realize their philanthropic goals and make a difference in the community, during their lifetimes and for future generations. Through the generosity of our donors, the Foundation seeks to improve the quality of life in greater Milwaukee by strengthening education, increasing economic opportunities and building strong neighborhoods, all while promoting racial equity and inclusion. By forging partnerships, inspiring philanthropy and transforming challenge into opportunity, the Greater Milwaukee Foundation is an engine for positive change. You can help us make a difference! The Philanthropic Adviser manages a portfolio of over 200 agency endowment funds and acorn funds. The Adviser works closely with over 100 nonprofit organizations to ensure agency endowment funds are managed in the most effective way to fulfill each agency’s long-term goals. The Adviser also works with individual donors in the Foundation’s acorn fund program, which is designed to grow a charitable fund over time. This position provides excellent stewardship to donors in both the agency endowment and acorn fund service lines and cultivates prospects for continued service line growth. The Adviser ensures timely service and appreciation for each donor’s philanthropic intent. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in related field. Graduate degree or certificate in accounting, financial planning, or non-profit management preferred. Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) a plus. Minimum five years of successful nonprofit work experience in charitable gift fundraising, client relationship development or executive director experience. Demonstrated ability to cultivate giving relationships with high net worth individuals. Experienced presenting to Boards and Investment Committees. Knowledgeable of financial investments. Strong network in Milwaukee-area nonprofit community. Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills. Strong customer service skills. Ability to prioritize, organize and multitask effectively. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and planned giving software.
