    Job Description: ProfessorSunisalwayslookingforselfmotivatedandhardworkingPh.D.studentswhoareinterested in computation and subsurface modeling to join his group, the ComputationalTransport Phenomena Laboratory (CTPL) at King Abdullah University of Science andTechnology(KAUST).M.S.degreeseekingstudentsarealsoconsideredifthestudentplanstocontinue for a PhD study after getting his/her Masters degree at KAUST. There are NOtuitions and fees formaster and PhD students at KAUST. The stipend for PhD students atKAUSTishighlycompetitive(USD$30,000to$40,000peryearplusfreehousingandhealthinsurance). The CTPL Laboratory is associatedwith both theDivision ofMathematical andComputer Sciences and Engineering and the Division of Earth and Environmental SciencesandEngineeringatKAUST.WithProfessorSun,studentscanpursueaPhDdegreeinAppliedMathematics and Computational Science (AMCS) or a PhD degree in Earth Sciences andEngineering(ErSE)withathesistopicinanyofthefollowingareas:(1)Modelingandsimulationsofsinglephaseandmultiphaseflowinporousmedia,(2)Molecularsimulationforphaseequilibrium,(3)Analysisandapplicationoffiniteelementmethods,especiallyDGandMFEM,(4)Computationalthermodynamicsofhydrocarbonandotherreservoirfluids,(5)Modelingandsimulationsofsubsurfacetransportandgeochemistry,(6)Computationaluncertaintyquantification,(7)Largescalecomputing,highperformancecomputingandsoftwaredesign.Salary and benefits: Remuneration is highly competitive. Annual stipend for a M.S.degree seeking student is$20,000U.S.dollars,withzerotaxpaidtotheKingdomofSaudiArabia.AnnualstipendforaPh.D.degree seeking student is $30,000 U.S. dollars, with zero tax paid to the Kingdom ofSaudi Arabia. Additional stipends of $5,000 to $8,000 U.S. dollars for a M.S. student and$10,000 U.S. dollars for a Ph.D. studentmay be offered for very best graduate students inexceptionalcases.SuccessfulapplicantswillalsoreceiveattractivecompensationandbenefitpackagesprovidedbyKAUST,including:(1) Fullyfurnishedhousing(includingutilities)atnocosttothestudent,(2) FreeeducationatKAUSTschoolsforthestudentschildren(ifthereareany),(3) Freemedicalanddentalinsurance.Application Procedure: Interested applicants should apply thorough KAUST official admission website.
