Individual Courses NEC 2008 Wiring and Protection - 5 hours - $45 The National Electrical Code (NEC) 2008 Wiring and Protection course is designed for persons performing electrical work. The branch circuits segment of this course is designed to provide you with knowledge of the requirements of the National Electrical Code (NEC) set for the ratings. However, this segment does not cover requirements for branch circuit ratings that supply motor loads. During the third segment, you will also explore the required receptacle and lighting outlet requirements. NEC 2008 Grounding and Bonding - 5 hours - $45 Every year thousands of people are injured or killed from electrical shocks/contacts. They are exposed to dangers such as electric shock, electrocution, burns, fires, and explosions. The proper grounding of electrode system, conductors, equipment, and equipment conductors can help us in reducing the number of casualties. In order to understand grounding and bonding effectively, the course is divided into the following two segments: 1. Grounding Electrode Systems and Grounding Electrode Conductors; and 2. Equipment Grounding and Equipment Grounding Conductors. Moreover, this course covers the topics such as grounding electrodes; resistance of rod, pipe, and plate electrodes; methods of connecting the grounding or bonding conductor to the grounding electrode; types of equipment grounding conductors; identification of equipment grounding conductors; and much more that will certainly help you in understanding the best way of grounding and bonding per the National Electrical Code (NEC) 2008 standards. Electrical Fundamentals - 5 hours - $45 In recent years, the use of electricity has become an increasingly important and integral part of our daily lives. Not only for those of us who work in the electric power industry, but also for the general public, a knowledge of the basic fundamentals of electricity and its application is increasingly becoming a "necessity". In this four module program on basic electrical fundamentals, we will be introducing and studying the general physics, the basic natural laws which govern the application in utilization of electricity. This material will serve as the solid foundation on which to build the more advanced concepts that are dealt with in our many other training programs. In presenting this material, we have tried to limit the application of mathematics and complicated calculations, preferring instead to demonstrate concepts by the use of powerful animated graphics. However, we cannot dispense with calculations altogether, so stick with us; this material does get more and more interesting as we proceed.

Hazards of Asbestos in the Workplace (Safety) - 1 hour - $20 Asbestos is a substance that has been used for centuries. Its heat-resistant properties make it almost indestructible; due to this property, asbestos have been widely used in the construction industry, especially for pipe and boiler insulation. Before 1973, asbestos was sprayed onto different surfaces for fire protection purposes, but this practice was banned due to the hazardous nature of asbestos. Furthermore, it is no longer used for insulating pipes and boilers. However, asbestos can still be found in many older buildings. Those who work in construction, repair, demolition and renovations are at a greater risk of contracting asbestos-related diseases such as asbestosis, lung cancer, and mesothelioma. There is no safe level for exposure to asbestos. This course introduces the students to the hazards of asbestos in the workplace and provides information about the measures that must be taken in order to minimize the effects of exposure to asbestos.
