Observations: City restored a beach outfall which drains the Flamingo ditch area of Venice. This project
is intended to restore some natural hydrology and to alleviate some flooding impacts in the area.

Observations:
Site was relatively clean with most storage areas under cover.
Car-wash area has drain connected to sanitary sewer which appears to be clogged.
Required Improvement: Restore drainage of the car-washing area, and implement maintenance schedule
to prevent future drainage issues to this drainage area.
Resolution: The grit traps on the drain were clogged. A vacuum truck cleaned out the traps and flushed
the connection pipe to the sanitary sewer. This cleaning process has been included in the city SOP and
will occur quarterly.
