Pharaohs ruled Egypt from about 3,000 BCE to 30 BCE.  They were

Egyptian Kings who were chief rulers and were worshipped as  gods.

The word pharaoh meant "great house".

King Menes was the very first pharaoh.  He was pharaoh of the 1st dynasty. He ruled from about 3407 to 3346 B.C.

King Menes's greatest accomplishments were :1)Uniting Upper and Lower Egypt2)Trading which boosted Egypt's Economy3)Making Memphis the first capital city4) Leaving behind his palette and macehead

King Menes was also known as King Narmer, King of Both Lands, Bearer of Both Crowns "Red and White", and Catfish.

King Ramses II was considered one of Egypt's most powerful rulers. He

was frequently attacked by neighboring rulers.

King Ramses II was a terrible general, but he surrounded himself with great helpers. Therefore, he did not have to worry about the neighboring rulers.

When King Ramses was king he put his name on pretty much everything to show his power.

King Ramses II had lots of wives and children.

Queen Cleopatra was the last of the Egyptian Pharaohs. She was an

amazing ruler who spoke nine different languages.

Cleopatra was highly intelligent and had an enchanting musical voice.

Marrying your own relatives was quite common during this time.  Cleopatra married her own brother, Ptolemy XIII, for convenience only.

While being a ruler she was stripped of her power and forced into exile.
