InstallationNote: You may require computer administrator rights to install Phantasm CS.

• TheAstuteGraphicslicensingsystemappliesvalidlicensekeysforthewholecomputer,notjustindividualinstallationsofAdobeIllustrator.It’sthereforepossibletosimultaneouslyoperatelicensedcopiesoftheplug-inonmorethanoneinstallationofAdobeIllustratorsimultaneously.

• IfyoulaterwishtoinstallPhantasmCSforotherversionsofAdobeIllustratoronthesamecomputer(notvirtualmachines),simplyre-runtheinstallationprocess.

• Itisveryimportantthatyoustoreyourlicensekeysafelyforbothfuturereferenceandtoensurethatothersdonotgainimproperaccesstoit.Asperthelicenseagreementdisplayedduringtheinstallationprocess,AstuteGraphicsretainstherighttoblocktheuseofanylicenseswhichhavefoundtobemisused.

Mac OS 10.5 and above

1. QuitIllustrator.

2. Openthe“PhantasmCS.dmg”diskimage

3. Startthe“PhantasmCS”installerpackageandfollowtheinstructions.Note: the installer will attempt to seek all installations of Illustrator CS4 to CS6 and provide options to install for one or more of these. It is also possible to manually specify the target folder for each installation by clicking on the [...] button to the right of each entry.

4. StartIllustrator.Youcanconfirmthatthesoftwarehasbeensuccessfullyinstalled,runninginitiallyinitsTrialperiod,butfollowingIllustrator » About Phantasm CS...(Cancelclosesthewindow).

Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 , Windows 8

1. QuitIllustrator.

2. Openthe.ziparchiveandextractthe“PhantasmCS.exe”programinstallerfile.

3. Starttheinstallerandfollowtheinstructions.Note: the installer will attempt to seek all installations of Illustrator CS4 to CS6 and provide options to install for one or more of these. The appropriate 32 or 64 bit versi0n will be installed automatically. It is also possible to manually specify the target folder for each installation by clicking on the Browse button to the right of each entry.

4. StartIllustrator.Youcanconfirmthatthesoftwarehasbeensuccessfullyinstalled,runninginitiallyinitsTrialperiod,butfollowingHelp » About Phantasm CS...

Optional installationHalftone and Ink Coverage settings and presets

Ifyouwishtomakefull,instantuseofthevectorHalftonetool,FilterandEffectadvancedoptionsandtheadvancedPhantasmCSPublisherInkManager,aseriesofsettingsandpresetshavebeensuppliedalongsidetheinstaller.Toinstall,pleasefollowthesesteps:

• QuitIllustrator

• Copythe“AstuteGraphics”folder(suppliedalongsidetheinstaller)intothefollowinglocation:

MacOS10.5+

[User]>Library>Preferences>

WindowsXP:First ensure you are able to see hidden folders (Tools > Folder Options... > View (tab) > Show hidden files and folders > OK)

WindowsVista/7/8:First ensure you are able to see hidden folders (Control Panel > Folder Options... > View (tab) > Show hidden files and folders > OK)

Users>[User]>AppData>Roaming>

• IfyouhavepreviouslyinstalledanearliercopyofPhantasmCS,youmayalreadyfindsettingsandpresetspresentinthislocation.Youmaywishtoensurethatabackupismadeoftheseifanysettings/presetsfilenamesareduplicate.

• RestartIllustrator

Trial periodWheninstalledforthefirsttime,PhantasmCSoperatesinaTrialperiodforanominalperiod.Wheninthismode,youhaveaccesstoalltoolsacrossalllevelsoftheplugin—Designer|Studio|Publisher.

UponexpiryoftheTrialperiod,thetoolsarenolongeractiveandaninformationwindowstatingthattheTrialhasexpiredwillbedisplayedifanyoftheEffects,Filters,etc.areselected.

Tocontinueusingthetools,youwillneedtopurchasealicense,whichwillresultinalicensekeybeingsentbyemail.Topurchasealicensekey,pleasevisitwww.astutegraphics.com/buy/Keepthisinformationsafeforfuturereference.
