PGA of America Sections

The Professional Golfers’ Association of America is divided into 41geographical Sections. Each PGA Section operates within the framework of thePGA Constitution. Many Sections also are sub-divided into chapters for thegeographical convenience of members.

The Sections hold elections each year for individual officers and maintain theirown staffs, headed by an executive director who administers the operations of theSection. The Sections maintain a close working relationship with The PGA ofAmerica staff in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

Each Section conducts its own events for PGA members, apprentices andamateur golfers. For example, each individual Section conducts an annual SectionPGA Club Professional Championship for its members, in addition to othermember tournaments throughout the season.

The Sections also provide the grass-roots network necessary to accomplish directcommunication with the nation’s 27 million amateur golfers. The Sections conductregional qualifying tournaments for amateur events, including the Westfield JuniorPGA Championship.

Furthermore, PGA Sections conduct educational programs, workshops andseminars for the benefit of their members and apprentices. They work with thenational office to provide nationally renowned experts for these programs, thusassisting PGA members in fulfilling The PGA’s mission of making golf fun foreveryone, everywhere.
