Students from professional Programmes such as B.Pharm., B.Sc., Agriculture and related subjects from a recognized Indian or Foreign University are also eligible.
4. M.Sc. Biomedical Sciences
A Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Life Sciences (Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, B.Sc., Medical Lab Technology, Genetics or Equivalent, Physical and Chemical Sciences Physics and Chemistry, Medicine, Veterinary and Agriculture from any recognized Indian or Foreign University. Students with B.E. Biomedical Engineering, B.Tech Degree in Biotechnology, Computer Science, Information Technology and Bioinformatics with Biology at +2 level are also eligible.
5. M.B.A. (Residential Programme) A Pass in any Bachelor's degree. 6. M.B.A. Hospital Administration A Pass in any Bachelor's degree.

III. PROGRAMME REQUIREMENTS
1. Candidates should have studied under 10+2+3 pattern or its equivalent. 2. Candidates who are undergoing the VI Semester/III year (Non- Semester) of the U.G.
programme are eligible to apply for P.G. Programme. IV. PROCEDURE FOR SUBMITTING ONLINE APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION 1) Applicants are requested to read carefully the rules of eligibility and other instructions given in
the prospectus. 2) Applicants who are willing to apply for more than one programme may apply in a single
application through online mode. However, they have to apply separately for each programme in the offline mode.
3) Fees
The applicant has to pay the Registration Fee of Rs.200/- for every PG Programme he/she apply.
If the applicant apply for PG Programme (Entrance) then the applicant has to pay the Entrance Exam
Fee of Rs.400/- along with the Registration fee. SC/ST students are exempted from paying the
registration and entrance examination fees for one program. If they want to apply for more
programs, then they have to pay the regular fees.
4) Instructions for filling-up the ONLINE application
a) 1. Upload scanned image of the Passport size Photograph (50KB Size) and 2. Upload scanned image of the Signature in the appropriate box.
3. Upload scanned image of the Consolidated markstatement if the applicant has already completed the UG Course. Otherwise the applicant has to upload the scanned copies of the mark statements of all the five semesters.
4. The applicant has to upload the scanned copy of the Community Certificate if the community of the applicant is other than OC.
5. If the applicant comes under the Special Category then the applicant has to upload the scanned copy of the concerned certificate.
b) Xerox copies of the following certificates along with Original has to be produced

has to be produced (for SC/ST/Blind candidates only). 5. Certificate of Differently Abled / Leprosy cured: Candidates under the Differently Abled
category should submit the certificate obtained from an authorized Medical Officer of the specialty concerned not below the rank of Civil Surgeon together with photograph showing the nature of handicap.
6. Sports Certificate: Candidates under the Sports category should produce a certificate obtained from the concerned University Physical Director in Form-I/II/III for having represented the State/Inter-University tournaments/Athletics.
7. Ex-servicemen Certificate: Certificates to be produced 8. SC/ST candidates are exempted from the payment of Registration fee for only one
programme (Registration fee has to be paid for applying for additional programmes). 9. Filling with any wrong information or suppression of information may result in punitive
action. 10. All the columns in the application should be filled. 11. In-complete application will be rejected.
Note: Hall ticket will be sent to the candidate’s mail address. Also, Hall ticket will be available in the website from one week before the examination. V. SELECTION PROCEDURE
1. For the PG Programmes (Entrance based) the selection of candidate is based on the marks in the Entrance Examination conducted by Madurai Kamaraj University and UG marks. 2. For the PG Programmes (Non-Entrance) the selection of the candidate is based on the UG marks obtained upto V semester/ II year (Non-Semester) of the PG programmes even though the candidate has already passed the degree.
3. For the MBA Residential program, there will be interview and group discussion following the entrance examination results.
4. For the MCA, there will be interview following the entrance examination results.
5. For M.P.Ed. Programme in addition to the Entrance Examination, Practical Examination and Viva-voce will be conducted on the same day of the Entrance Test. For Practical Examination, candidates should report in sports uniform, shoes and other personal sports kits like Hockey stick, Racquets etc. The test process is likely to be held the whole day.
Reservation Policy Tamilnadu Government Reservation Policy will be strictly followed for admission to all programmes.
Publication of Selection The list of selected and waitlisted candidates will be published in the University website and displayed on the Notice Board outside the Hall where the Counselling will be conducted.
VI. ENTRANCE EXAM

FEES DETAILS Refer Annexure – A (Page 19 to 24) VIII. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
1. No candidate can undergo more than one programme (full-time) at a time during the academic year and no one can take more than one examination at the same time.
2. In all communications addressed to the University the programme applied for and the registration number should be specified.
3. The University reserves the right to suspend any programme or cancel any Exam / Exam Centres without any reason.
4. The University will not be held responsible for any delay or loss in postal and any other modes of transit.
5. The decision of the University shall be final in all cases of admission.
6. The selected candidate should meet the Prof. & Head of the Department concerned on or before the stipulated date and time and submit the following original certificates along with Xerox copies of the certificates(Self Attested) only to the Head of the Department at the time of admission for the purpose of verification.
i. SSLC, HSE mark statement ii. Consolidated Statement of Marks / Grade certificate and provisional certificate
iii. Transfer certificate iv. Conduct certificate from the Head of the Institution last studied v. Community certificate
vi. Income Certificate (obtained within 3 months before the date of submission of application) has to be produced (for SC/ST/Blind candidates only).
vii. If selected under special category, the relevant certificate. viii. Such other certificates, as may be required by the University
1. Applicants seeking admission for the PG programmes are required to appear for the online Entrance Exam to be conducted by the Madurai Kamaraj University.
2. The Entrance Exam will be of objective type for a period of 100 minutes.
3. Mere appearance for the entrance examination does not mean that the candidate is eligible for admission.
ix. In the case of candidates who have passed the qualifying examination from other Universities, they should produce the Eligibility Certificate obtained from the Madurai Kamaraj University at the time of admission.
x. All admissions made will be Provisional till the certificate, statement of marks / grades etc., submitted by the candidates are scrutinized and accepted. If any candidate is found to have got admission on false claim, the admission will be cancelled without any prior notice.
7. After that the candidate should remit the prescribed fee (refer Prospectus annexure-A for
fees details) available in our website. The payment should be made through SBI-I COLLECT – Madurai Kamaraj University – Registrar – Registration Fees.
8. The waiting list candidates will be informed about their position in the waiting list
for admission and they should meet the Prof. & Head of the Department concerned on specified date, time and place, failing which the candidate will forfeit the seat against vacancies, if any.
9. Vacancies, if any, will be filled in from among the waiting list candidates reporting for
selection strictly in the order of merit and there is no guarantee for admission.
10. Selected waiting list candidates will have to remit the fees on the same day. No extension of time shall be granted for payment of fees under any circumstances.
11. Otherwise, the admission will automatically stand cancelled and the candidate will have no
claim for admission to the programmes.
12. The candidate awaiting the mark-statement should furnish the consolidated statement of marks to the Head of the Department within 10 days from the date of publication of results. In case the candidate fails to secure the minimum marks prescribed for admission as per the regulations, will forfeit the seat allotted as well as the fees paid.
13. Any request to change the programmes and transfer of fees will not be entertained.
14. No TA/DA will be paid to any candidate under any circumstances.
15. Tuition fee as admissible by the Government will not be collected from the SC/ST candidates at the time of admission.
16. Tuition fee and special fee as admissible by the Government will not be collected from the Differently abled candidates at the time of admission.
17. Other States students are treated under ‘Open Competition’ category for all the
Programmes except Genomics.
18. No Candidate will be permitted to take the Entrance Exam without Hall Ticket.
IX. SCHOLARSHIPS
1. The eligible candidates belonging to backward class and Most Backward class can apply for scholarship to the Government of Tamilnadu.
2. The eligible candidates belonging to SC/ST communities can apply for scholarships to the Government of Tamilnadu and the Government of India.
3. The eligible visually challenged candidates can apply for scholarship to the Government of Tamilnadu.
X. HOSTEL ACCOMMODATION
Separate Hostel facilities are available for men and women students in the University Campus at Palkalainagar, Madurai 625 021. Those who need Hostel accommodation in the University campus may approach the Warden of the respective Hostels after completing admission formalities. Application form for requesting Hostel accommodation will be available in their respective Hostels.
