All dressed upIt’s almost time to get wasted

and dress up in ridiculous cos-tumes again. Or, if you like to play it safe, go around and collect candy from strangers.

Halloween is less than a cou-ple of weeks away, which means you should have an idea of what costume you want to scare/get scared in.

If not, then luckily for you here is a brief costume compen-dium of dress-up dos and don’ts in this year’s Halloween guide.

Kal’Falnl who?You want something cool,

but not overdone. Face it; there will be more than enough Lady Gagas, Jokers, Hunter S. Thomp-sons, and Waldos this year, but, who knows, it could be fun hang-ing out with 10 other people dressed like you.

If you’re trying to avoid that though don’t come up with some-thing too obscure. Obscure as in: everybody asks who you are, gives a confused look when you tell them, and then walks away when you’re explaining the spe-cifics of the Star Wars deleted scene your character’s from.

Putting the functional in funAlong with walking that edge

between obscure and cliché, there is another edge costumers need to walk. And you can’t walk that edge when you can’t walk at all. If your costume requires 8” stilettos or scuba gear flippers then you’re probably not going to have a very fun time.

But then again don’t push the absurdity back too far, because Halloween is not about making sense.

So make sure your costume lets you move and walk around without slowing you down. And, most importantly, that it doesn’t hinder your ability to drink.

Don’tthink,drink!
