This is a tutorial on how to install Petrel 2010.2.2

1- Install Petrel 2010.2.2 as the following

2- Open Petrel 2010.2.2 from the desktop

3- Allow in firewall of the antivirus (if appeared)

4- Press "Yes"

5- Type " 27009@localhost; " as in the following picture then click OK

6- The following message appears, Click ok

7- Now click Cancel

8- Then you have to change the mac address of your network card to 0022B06074E6

If you don't know how to do this, look at the following steps a) Right click at your network card then left click on "Open Network and Sharing Center"

b) Click on "Change adapter settings"

c) Right click on your active "Local Area Connection" the choose "Properties"

d) Choose "Configure"

e) Choose Advanced, then Network address and change the value to 0022B06074E6

Note: please save the old mac address in a text file (just a precaution) Then press OK

Now your mac address has been changed successfully and you should be connected to the

internet.

Note: If you have lost your internet connection then you are connected to a local network which gives you the IP address depending on your mac address. In this case, you have to contact your network admin to give you an IP address which connects with the new mac

address "0022B06074E6"

9- Copy "flexlm" folder and paste it in this directory

C:/ Program Files / Schlumberger

10- Edit "lic_p2010.lic" with notepad

11- Change "ComputerName" to your computer network name You can find it as the following:

Control panel -> System

Then Choose File -> save

12- Open flexlm folder and start lmtools.exe a) Then choose Config Services

b) Type "Schlumberger License Server" in Service Name c) Choose "Browse" and choose "lmgrd.exe"

d) Click open

13- Click "Browse" and choose "lic_p2012.lic" then click "open"

14 Create a file called "dbg.log" in "flexlm" folder Then click browse and choose "dbg.log" then open

15 Mark on "Use Services" and "Start Server at Power Up"

Then click "Save Services" then click Yes

16- Go to "Start/Stop/Reread" then Start Server

17- Go back to "Config Services" then click on "view log" you must see the log as appears on the left panel

if yes, then you are almost done and click "close log"

18- Copy contents of x86 folder and paste in petrel 2010 folder then replace

19- Start petrel.exe

20- Click OK

22- Wait 20 seconds, then petrel 2010 will finally open
