worked in both interior and architectural practices. I believe that good design is fundamental to the success of a project and believe that my experience in all aspects of a design scheme from inception to completion has given me the skills required to deliver high quality solutions within budget. I am highly proficient at workplace analysis, space planning,

interior design, architectural design, 3D visualisation and the production of high quality presentations. I have also worked in sales and project management roles alongside my main design functions, this has allowed me to develop excellent interpersonal skills and enabled me to forge strong working relationships with clients and convert speculative leads into successful projects.

I have collated a selection of recent projects into this short presentation. LILA* is an educational project based in central Liverpool.Marie Curie is part of the healthcare sector and Centric House is a commercial office delapidations and refurbishment scheme. I have also included a small sample of my architectural project work. I have many more case study projects available upon request.

I am a highly motivated and creative individual with a passion for design. I am an experienced and dedicated designer with ten years of professional expertise in the interior fit out and refurbishment industry. Having a continual desire to enhance my design skills I graduated with a BA Hons in Architecture at Liverpool University in 2009. I have a broad range of experience having

LILA* is an international language school with a forward thinking leadership team. After an initial design tendering process I was selected by LILA* to design their new academy headquarters.

New Barratt House is situated in the heart of the newly developed Liverpool One shopping district and counts The Cavern and The Hard Days Night Hotel as its immediate neighbours.

The scheme attempts to link the academy to the rich cultural tapestry of Liverpool life, past and present. Each of the eighteen classrooms has a unique identity and associated colour scheme.

The project was a collaboration with the clients appointed graphic design consultants, Eyefever. Internal finishes were selected to tie in with the concurrent rebranding programme for LILA*

THE BRIEF FOR THIS PROJECT WAS TO CREATE A LANGUAGE ACADEMY CONSISTING OF EIGHTEEN CLASSROOMS, IT FACILITIES, A CONFERENCE SUITE, ACADEMIC OFFICES AND COMMUNAL AREAS SPREAD OVER TWO FLOORS.

EACH CLASSROOM WAS ASSIGNED A UNIQUE IDENTITY AND FEATURE COLOUR TAKEN FROM THE ‘LILA* POOL OF LIFE’ COLOUR PALETTE. A VINYL QUOTATION REPRESENTING THE THEME OF THE ROOM WAS APPLIED TO EACH FEATURE WALL AND ARTWORK RELATING TO THE THEME OF THE

A DIVISIBLE CONFERENCE ROOM FACILITY WAS CREATED USING MOVABLE ACOUSTIC PARTITIONING AND MULTIFUNCTIONAL FOLDING AND STACKING FURNITURE. DUE TO THE HIGH VOLUME OF ATTENDING STUDENTS AND STAFF ADDITIONAL TOILET FACILITIES WHERE REQUIRED WHICH ALSO NEEDED TO CATER FOR THE RELIGIOUS NEEDS OF THE MANY MUSLIM STUDENTS AT THE ACADEMY.

ROOM WAS ALSO FRAMED AND PLACED IN THE CORRIDOR OUTSIDE EACH CLASSROOM. THEMES INCLUDED THE BEATLES, THE MERSEY AND OTHER LIVERPOOL ASSOCIATED IDEAS. THE THEMES AND COLOURS OF THE CLASSROOMS REVEAL THEMSELVES AS THE VIEWER TRAVELS FURTHER INTO THE BUILDING THROUGH THE USE OF 300MM GLAZED SECTIONS.

A BESPOKE 270 DEGREE CURVED WORKSTATION WAS CREATED IN THE CENTRE OF THE FIRST FLOOR TO FUNCTION AS A TEN PERSON IT AND TRAINING SUITE.

THE RECEPTION AREA WAS DESIGNED TO WELCOME THE STUDENTS INTO THE ACADEMY AND SHOWCASE THE PRIMARY COLOURS OF THE LILA* PALETTE

EACH PARTITION SEPARATING THE CLASSROOMS & CORRIDOR WAS CON-

STRUCTED WITH THREE 300MM FULL HEIGHT GLAZED SECTIONS.

A COMMON ROOM WAS CREATED USING FULL HEIGHT SINGLE GLAZED

PARTITIONING WITH FEATURE GEOMETRIC MANIFESTATIONS.

A CURVED DDA COMPLIANT RECEPTION COUNTER AND BOOKCASE WERE HIGHLIGHTED USING A WHITE HIGH GLOSS FORMICA FINISH

WITH FEATURE LED ROPELIGHTING. VINYL QUOTATIONS AND ARTWORK WERE APPLIED TO SELECTED WALLS TO REINFORCE THE

LILA* BRANDING AND LIVERPOOL THEME OF THE PROJECT.

THE REASON FOR THIS WAS TWOFOLD: TO ALLOW FOR THE PENETRATION OF NATURAL DAYLIGHT INTO THE CORE AREAS OF THE ACADEMY & PREVENT A TUNNEL EFFECT; AND TO ALLOW

THE FEATURE COLOURS FOR EACH CLASSROOM TO BE SEEN IN JUXTAPOSITION WITH ONE ANOTHER.

A FEATURE WALL WAS CREATED USING THOUSANDS OF WORDS, PLACE NAMES, PEOPLE AND IDEAS LINKED TO LIVERPOOL. THE ARTWORK WAS INSTALLED USING A DIGITALLY PRINTED WALLCOVERING. A BESPOKE KITCHEN AND BESPOKE SEATING WERE ALSO DESIGNED AND INSTALLED.

» As part of the Recep-tion refurbishment an existing structural fire place and chimney was removed. A new steel framework was added to the existing structu-re in order to redistri-bute the loadings from the floor above

» The removal of the central brick chimney allowed the reception area to be opened up and a new central reception counter to be installed facing the entrance doors. Soft seating areas were created for visitors.

» For the reception area warm tones were cho-sen to soften the area and create a modern comfortable environ-ment. In the family room bright feature colours were used to create a bright and funky childrens area.

» A bespoke DDA compliant reception counter, and bespoke shop counter were de-signed and finished in a cherry veneer. In the family room a bespoke TV unit was installed and finished in a white high gloss.
