We’re in!City College Plymouth is proud to be working in partnership with the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy to offer aspiring entrepreneurs the opportunity to realise their business dreams.
The Academy was founded by entrepreneur and star of Dragons’ Den, Peter Jones CBE, with a view to encouraging more entrepreneurial activity within the UK, based on a philosophy of ‘learning by doing’. The Academy’s courses are designed to be different, with much of the learning time being made up of guest speakers, master classes and workshops - truly bringing the boardroom to the classroom!

The Level 3 BTECin Enterprise and Entrepreneurship This pioneering qualification focuses entirely on developing and furthering the aspirations of young entrepreneurs. Equivalent to two A levels, this one-year course will either help you to set-up and run your own business or to thrive within an existing organisation. It’s all about developing functional business skills, to equip you for the real world.
As a student you will receive:• learning from tutors with real business experience• work placements tailored to your specific interests• masterclasses led by entrepreneurs and business leaders• opportunities to work on regional and national business challenges• access to help and support from our Student Services team on everything
from finance to finding a job• student benefits (such as access to the College gym, hair and beauty
salons or organised activities) and membership of the Students’ Union.

Want to join us? The Pitch for a Place day is designed to give prospective Peter Jones Enterprise Academy students a real flavour for what life onthe course will be like!
You’ll be working with other students to complete a series of tasks set on the day, putting your individual entrepreneurial talents and team-working abilities to the test. Then, you’ll get the opportunity to ‘pitch’ for your place on the course.

Come along ahead of the event in July for all the help, support and advice you’ll need - and find out what being part of the Academy could do for you. It’s a great opportunity to find out more about the course, the Academy and the College,and it’ll give you the time and tools to get fully prepared for your pitch.
